No U-Turn
During 1999, HARLAN CAGE keyboardist Roger Scott Craig assembled a new line-up of musicians under the banner 101 SOUTH. This project brought together many talented individuals, all seasoned and well-travelled veterans of the L.A. session scene. Joining Roger in the band were much sought after session vocalist Gregory Lynn Hall, guitarist Mike Turner, bassist Chris Julian and drummer Hans Geiger. When we compare 101 SOUTH to HARLAN CAGE, there are many similarities, but one thing stands out: the vocal prowess of Hall. He is like a stand-in for Lou Gramm (FOREIGNER) and Christian vocal hero Bob Carlisle (ex ALLIES) with his own style and distinction. The trademark keyboard work of Craig is ever present, while the songs mix all-out melodic power with delicate ballads. A compelling combination which just has to be heard. Memorable moments such as the surging AOR of 'Nowhere To Run' and 'Your Razor Is Sharp' (surely 'Dearborn Station' Part 2) and the soaring vocals Gregory Lynn Hall on "We took the wrong road" stand out among a collection of superior tracks on the album "101 South" from the year 2000. Two years later, and 101 SOUTH return with their sophomore release 'Roll Of The Dice' with another dose of pure timeless 'Class Rock'- great songs and incredible passion. Joining the band this time around is HARLAN CAGE cohort Billy Liesegang, giving 101 SOUTH even more guitar fuel. Following hot on the heels of the predecessors, Roger Scott Craig and friends now deliver a new helping of melodic rock entitled "No U Turn" that will surely have you reaching blindly for your nearest credit card! Gregory Lynn Hall once again takes over the vocal job whilst Craig himself performs both vocals and keyboards. Singer Chris Thompson (MANFRED MANN) is guesting on the track "Blue Skies" whereas the guitar credits go to Billy Liesegang (NINA HAGEN a.o.), Ian Bairnson (ALAN PARSONS PROJECT) and David Pasillas.

Fronted by the voluptuous Karen Lawrence, 1994 were one of the greatest North American hard rock bands that time and tide has indeed forgotten. The album has all the kinds of metal, from power melodic riffs with dual guitar shreds to slowest chord changes, then to dark classical guitar sounds, then back to progressive rhythm rests and finally to PANTERA-like outbreaks. The solid rhythm section of Paul Muise on bass and AK45 (what kind of name is that?) on drums gives the freedom to the 6-string masters Chris Kessaris (is this a Greek last name?) and Chris Cecchini to create melodic riffs, never ending shreds and dual harmonic solos with tapping or extreme picking.
In and between the songs you can hear quotes from old movies, it is a way for 3HM to transport the listener to the catastrophic scene of Gidorah and the panic of humans at the sight of three flesh eating heads. The song "The Beats Of Odo Island" is a tribute to Gonzilla the real beast of Odo Island.

I Am Human
4Fourty was established in 2000 by lead vocalist, Steve Samson and guitarist, Owen Parker. The band gained popularity in 2001, with thier debute CD, I'm Not Odd, selling out many of Nashville's local rock clubs. While extensivley touring the mid-west, 4Fourty shared the stage with national acts such as Enuff z Enuff, Faster Pussycat, Kansas, Judas Priest, Sofa Kings, and more. By 2004, the band had achieved notoriety on the road as hard-hitting, high enegry rock performers. The band then returned to the studio in 2005, and went on to record two more albums; I Am Human, and III. The members of the band then pursued independent careers as Steve, being a producer/ songwriter in Nashville, and Owen, a session guitarist, in Los Angeles. In early 2007 the pair decided to colaborate on a new album, the result of which was Emotion Machine. A concept album, Emotion Machine, was a highly energetic, melody driven, government conspiracy, set to music. This album escalated to be their greatest accomplishment to date and would define a unique "sound" that is unmistakenly 4Fourty.

8-Point Rose from Sweden was formed in autumn 2009 by a few members of the former band Evermoore that had been producing demo-records and playing live in different cities in Scandinavia, Czech Republic and Germany for seven years. The members of the band have an average age of 20 and all of them live up in the north of Sweden except for the singer Marcus Nygren that lives 2000 kilometers south of the bands "hometown" Kiruna. Marcus was found on the internet by the other members and after discovering that the musical similarities were so many and the personal chemistry was so good between all five of them that it would be perfect to start a hard-working band together despite the distance, they formed 8-Point Rose.
Their music can be described as melodic, heavy and catchy metal with strong melodies, and they are inspired by a lot of other Scandinavian bands like In Flames, Nocturnal Rites, Tad Morose, The Rasmus, Evergrey, The Haunted, Soil work and Morgana Lefay. The music has both a really heavy and almost "extreme metal" base fronted by the furious screams of guitarist Alexander Timander and a softer surface with strong melodies and beautiful vocal arrangements fronted by talented singer Marcus Nygren.
The first months, under the name of 8-Point Rose, they released a tribute-song to the pop-icon Michael Jackson that recently had passed away. The song was released for free download at the bands website and got a lot of attention at different memorial-pages for Michael. The success of the song also gave them the opportunity to play at two metal-festivals in the north of Sweden with bands like Lamb of God, Behemoth and Hypocrisy during the first months of the bands career!
The debut-album "Primigenia" is recorded in three different cities in Sweden: Umeå, Kiruna and Malmö. It is produced and mixed by Ronnie Björnström at Enhanced Audio Productions and features guest-artists from some great Swedish bands which have influenced 8-Point Rose alot: Bloodbound, Avatar, Andromeda, Zonaria and Morgana Lefay. The lyrics of the album is about everything from deep emotions to the game World of Warcraft and the importance of parties and having a ball of course isnt missed either. Some of the tracks were actually originally written already in the mind of a 15-year old Johannes Timander during the years in the former band Evermoore. Most of the tracks from the album is featured in American bodybuilding-star David Henry's DVD "Beyond Motivated".
