"Blood Of The Nations" was recorded at Backstage Studio in Derbyshire, England with acclaimed British producer and SABBAT guitarist Andy Sneap (MEGADETH, EXODUS, ARCH ENEMY, NEVERMORE). The CD — which marks the recording debut of the band's latest addition, vocalist Mark Tornillo (ex-TT QUICK) — contains around 14 tracks, including "The Abyss", "Shades Of Death", "Teutonic Terror", "Blood Of The Nations" and "Pandemic".
The first-ever concert by the new lineup of ACCEPT took place on May 8 at the 750-capacity New York City's Gramercy Theatre.
Regarding Tornillo's addition to ACCEPT, Hoffmann previously said, "It all happened in minutes. Peter and I were working on some tunes in a studio in New Jersey. Somebody suggested we give this guy Mark a call to see if he would join us on vocals. So when he arrived we started jamming on some old ACCEPT tunes — just for fun. As soon as Mark started singing we looked at each other and realized the impossible just happened: we found a new voice for ACCEPT! The timing could not have been better! Now or never... Originally formed in 1985, Action is a long-time concept devised by acclaimed guitarist / songwriter Chip of What Matters, Mars Hill and The Hitmen. The band also features the soaring vocals of other former Mars Hill member Jack Marques (Crossover, Unknown God) and the musical talents of bassist Chris Sutherland, keyboardist Ruben Demello (Crossover, Unknown God), drummer Chris Longo (Project Broken, Dirty Deeds, Hysteria, Promises) with additional drums from Mark Duane (Trendkill, Paradox, Action, Touch, Krankenstein).
As founder and guitarist for the band Action during the mid to late 80’s, Chip shared the stage with Quiet Riot, Firehouse, Slaughter, Rough Cutt and Zebra among many others. As the musical landscape quickly changed in the early 90’s, Action split not to be heard from again until he collaborated with singer / songwriter Jack Marques a decade later.
Between bands and life itself, both Chip and Jack had each individually written and recorded a number of outstanding melodic rock tracks over the years which ranged from 80’s rock / metal to more modern adult oriented rock. Each had always been saving these unused gems for some future project; they just weren't sure what it would be.
What is certain, these gems are fresh, melodic power rock - true to its 80's roots while delivering a modern kick! Action is an infusion of Boston meets Journey with touches of Whitesnake and Def Leppard. With this mix, Action delivers what rock fans have been waiting a decade or more for - screaming melodic guitars, soaring vocals, catchy choruses and rockin’ beats.
Never feeling that Action was quite finished, in mid 2006, Chip approached friend and manager Ron Vining about getting the project off the ground again. In February 2007, Action were snapped up by Frontiers Records and the album was delivered a few months later, with an artwork courtesy of Richard Mace (Journey, Soul SirkUS, Jeff Scott Soto).

Great, great, cool stuff! Agent Steel is a speed metal band from Los Angeles, California that was formed in 1984 by the Brazilian singer John Cyriis and the drummer Chuck Profus. The band released two full-length albums and one EP before ending in 1988. They were most notable for John Cyriis's high-pitched vocals, catchy songs, melodic riffs and fast tempos mixed in with their unusual (in heavy metal) UFO conspiracy theory imagery. The band reformed in 1999 and has released two full length albums since. No, this AGNES is not Pop princess Agnes Carlsson (“Release Me”), this is the Finish “Pop Idol”-competitor Agnes Pihlava whose debut album, “When The Night Falls”, attracted some Heavy Rock fans’ attention in 2006. “Redemption” is her second CD and again she got help from some of Finland’s most renown rockers, among others Gary Keskinen (NEGATIVE), Tuomas Heikkinen (LEVERAGE) und Timo Kotipelto (STRATOVARIUS). The result is a powerful and very melodic Heavy Rock album that lives very much of Agnes Pihlava’s female vocals. The Finnish singerin Agnes did pretty well on the Finnish Idol and now has got her debut album released through the major label Sony/BMG in Finland. This is a fantastic album that is filled with powerful modern rock/hardrock with AOR-choruses that gets stuck in your head right away. It's not that strange with first class songwriters such as Joey Tempest (Europe), Mr. Lordi (Lordi), Kimmo Blom (Urban Tale), Luke Morley (Thunder), Tony Kakko (Sonata Arctica) and others. The production is top-notch with a modern and powerful sound. Agnes has a strong and beautiful voice that reminds very much of Tone Norum in the more calm parts and when she rocks her voice reminds of Amy Lee (Evanescence) . Agnes is a modern day Tone Norum mixed with Robin Beck meeting the power of Evanescence. Just get a copy of this awesome album pronto.

AIRLESS, founded in 2000, is a classy Hard Rock outfit from Spain imbued with the individualistic guitar skills of Robert Rodrigo. The band debuted for domestic label Vinny Records with a self-titled album in 2002 whilst their follow up, "2nd Round" saw release in 2005 by Lion Music. Now the band is back with “Fight”, an album with a slightly harder edge than before, and a rawer production which better represents their potent live show.
“Fight” is a more direct release than its predecessors and lyrically is a much more personal affair with vocalist Iñaki Lazkano’s words stemming from personal experience. ALL ENDS, featuring Emma Gelotte (sister of IN FLAMES guitarist Björn Gelotte) and Tinna Karlsdotter on vocals, Fredrik Johansson (DIMENSION ZERO, IN FLAMES’ “The Jester Race” album) and Peter Mårdklint (EMBRACED, TENEBRE) on guitar, along with Josef Skanås on drums , are a band founded in 2003 in Gothenburg, Sweden. It feature a sound housing somewhere between rock and metal that lives first and foremost through the fascinating voices of the two front-ladies, Tinna Karlsdotter and Emma Gelotte. It is this two-pronged female approach that distinguishes these Swedes from the rest of the crowd and gives them their own unique sound.
The debut EP ‘Wasting Life’, release on May 11 2007 through G.U.N. Records doesn’t, sound like NIGHTWISH or WITHIN TEMPTATION or EVANESCENCE…on the contrary, it sounds like nothing other than ALL ENDS!
And if the name ‘Gelotte’ sounds familiar, then it should, because IN FLAMES guitarist Björn Gelotte is the brother of singer Emma. Björn and his bandmate Jesper Strömblad are highly creative songwriters with a huge musical spectrum, and the inspiration for ALL ENDS. Jesper and Björn’s role with ALL ENDS is solely a creative involvement behind the scenes.
The fact that ALL ENDS is made up of five top musicians of their genre is evident in the magnificent ‘Alone’, which skillfully treads the line between metallic wrecking ball and pop anthem. And the title track, ‘Wasting Life’, is also equally characterized by the simultaneously powerfully and melodic guitar work that is simply irresistible in combination with the sleek grooves and whale-sized hooks.

In 2001 that project turned in to a real band as the name Altaria was taken and the first line-up was complete. The first live shows and studio recordings were also made the same year. Altaria's second demo already awoke interest among record companies and the band was signed in 2002. Between 2003 and 2007 Altaria recorded three studio albums and a compilation album was also released. After Altaria's third album "The Fallen Empire" in 2006 the band did its first major tour all over Europe supporting "The Metal Queen" Doro and Sonata Arctica. Large festivals as well as club tours have also been on the band's schedule during the years and Altaria is known to be entertaining and always give 100% on stage. In the beginning of 2008 the band started to prepare for a new album and later that year 12 new tracks were chosen to be recorded. The name "Unholy" was decided to be suitable for the new album which will be more guitar-based and "dirty" than earlier Altaria releases. Still Altaria has always been about creating very melodic and heavy rock with memorable choruses and "Unholy" is no exception, as the force of Marco Luponero, Petri Aho, J-P Alanen along with founding member Tony S. lays it all on the line. This CD belongs to one of the best European female fronted AOR releases ever, this album can easily compete with American acts like WITNESS, HEART and VIXEN! There isn't a weak song on the album and if I should mention my favourites it really it hard to choose as this CD is filled with 11 killer hookladen AOR songs.

The basis of the AMBITION project were put during the year 2002, when Frontiers Records President Serafino Perugino approached singer Joe Vana, of MECCA fame, in order to bring back on the spotlight one of the “long lost” AOR golden throats - Thom Griffin.
He reappeared again – after a silence lasted some 20 years! - on the music scene singing backgrounds on the MECCA album, where Vana ironically, shared lead vocals with Fergie Fredriksen (ex TOTO, LEROUX): the first singer in Griffin’s original band TRILLION.
Griffin gained in fact his cult-status singing with TRILLION on “Clear Approach”, a magnificent example of Pomp Rock which still today stands the test of time and that got recently reissued in the year 2000 on Sony Music in Japan.
Vana and Griffin soon went into the studio and cut the song “Waiting In My Dreams” (a remake of a hidden treasure from the MR. MISTER repertoire), who took melodic rock fans by storm on the ROCK THE BONES vol. 1 compilation, released on Frontiers in 2003 and is now included as a bonus track on the finished release.
Unfortunately things sometimes aren’t easy as they seem and Joe Vana had to resign from the project, because of other personal commitments. Griffin then remained without a producer and a songwriting partner and the album was about to be put on hold indefinitely.
But it was only thanks to Perugino’s patience and persistence that AMBITION saw the light of the day in the end! He hired producer Fabrizio Grossi (GLENN HUGHES, STARBREAKER, VERTIGO etc.) to care about the recording sessions and asked around to supply the proper material that could suit best Griffin’s soaring vocal abilities. Joey Carbone, longtime Joseph Williams’ (ex TOTO singer) sonwgriting partner answered the call and supplied “No Wasted Moments” and “Together”. But thanks to this idea he was also able to discover a couple of talents in the persons of Christian Wolff, a very gifted songwriter from Sweden (who in the meanwhile has become the new songwriting partner of ON THE RISE’s Terje Eide – who also has a song on this album “Shaping Fate and Destiny”) and Brian LaBlanc, who later on got a recording contract with his own band BLANC FACES with his brother Robbie.
The recording of the project could finally restart at the end of 2004 and since the music had an obvious resemblance to TOTO’s sound on “Isolation” and The Seventh One”, the producers thought to enlist the services of Swedish guitar ace Tommy Denander, who could have the perfect AOR touch for this release!
Still keen on the idea of having two singers sharing lead vocals duties – and since Vana could not yet resolve his troubles - at the very last minute, Perugino and Grossi thought it was cool to have a guest spot from short-lived TOTO singer Jean-Michel Byron. He duets with Griffin on “Too Much” and “Hypocrites” and sings leads on “Hunger” giving a “special touch” to the release.
An interesting way to have AOR desaparecidos meeting with new talent? You can bet AMBITION is all this, but much much more !

Review:
When I first received this DVD I had been awake for hours and thought I could put this on the TV, watch a few minutes and slowly drift to sleep. What a stupid fucking idea that was! The two plus hours of American Dog's All Over The Road - Volume One quickly flew by and I soon realized I had been awake for almost 24 hours straight!
I've always been a fan of American Dog's brand of redneck metal, but this DVD showed me another side of the group - a humorous side. Lead 'dog' Michael Hannon portrays an up-tight curmudgeon named Sir Loin O'Beef who feels the need to slam the 'dog fellows' every chance he gets throughout the DVD. This character is a riot as he is fed up with this band, calling them 'rubbish, 'sad' and 'scrapping the bottom of the barrel'. I could write an entire review on the asinine cut-downs offered by the pipe wielding stick-in-the-mud, but I'll let you buy the DVD to hear them all.
The quality of All Over The Road varies from professional to amateur bootleg, but there are plenty of stand-outs included. Playing live in front of a handful of the band's closest friends during the recording of the 6 Pack EP is a great idea for any rock group out there. Watching guitarist Steve Theado try to play while wasted, the story behind how the band recruited drummer Keith Pickens, Dangerous Toys' Jason McMaster revealing the secret of great sleaze vocals and an insight into the filming of the "Sometimes You Eat The Pussy" video are great little snippets.
Throw in the promo videos for "Workin' Man", "Rock-N-Roll Dog" and "Sometimes You Eat The Pussy", the later of which includes a fucked-up midget in a cat suit, and you have the ultimate American Dog collection. And the best part is that with this release being called Volume One, you just know there will be a follow-up one of these days!
So buy this DVD, sit back, relax, press play, bang your head to politically incorrect hard rock and wake up with a hangover. That's what happened to me....and I wasn't even drinking! It must have been the smell of stale beer emanating from the TV.

Beyond The Dark
In their home country, Finland, ANCARA have already achieved several chart entries. So even „Beyond The Dark“ marks their debut abroad, the guys are no newcomers anymore. ANCARA definitely know how to write and arrange first-class songs and their individual playing skills are beyond any reproach. Well, and the guys have also managed to create a very unique style that is difficult to compare with any other band. If LEVERAGE or ALTARIA would record an album with dark and heavy guitars and massive drums like the early HIM, then the result maybe could sound close to „Beyond The Dark“. Sure, the songs by ANCARA don't feature such radio-friendly melodies as the songs by their mentioned countrymen, but they are still very straight and catchy.
Just take a listen to the bombastic „In Silence“, the straight „Deny“ and the rousing ballad „Snowflower“ (reminds me a bit of WARLOCK's „Für Immer“) and you will find out about the band's qualities. A special praise must be given here to singer Sammy Salminen whose clear and strong vocals gives those songs a certain something. At the end of the day, „Beyond The Dark“ has become a very promising album that I can recommend honstely to any Melodic Metal-lover. In my opinion, ANCARA have the potential that is necessary to soon become a leading act in that genre.

The project had its inception from the great esteem that both Andre Andersen keyboard maestro and mainman of Royal Hunt and Paul Laine formerly singer of Danger Danger had one for each other.
Andre therefore started to write straight rock tunes. In a way, according to the ivory-tinkler it was a challenge to push these songs in 3.5 - 4 minutes frames, ditching those longer instrumental passages, elaborate intros and such. "But it was fun nevertheless..." adding, "the whole sound landscape is pretty much "in your face", every player did a great job so the main point of this album - no thrills, pure rock - came across as planned."
After the first recording sessions Andre felt the desire to expand the project to another powerful and strong vocalist he had the chance to admire for some time, that is Pink Cream 69 frontman David Readman. He liked a lot the demos that Andre prepared for the project and in a few weeks the record was completed.
"Both singers are great" says Andre, "and even if I crafted the songs particularly for their vocal styles, they made my job a lot easier."
The album includes ten tracks of straight ahead melodic hard rock that will encompass a large number of fans from the Royal Hunt and Pink Cream 69 to the Danger Danger harder-edged fanbase.

Androids were one of the biggest hidden secrets of the late 80's hard rock scene in all of Europe. Androids mixed their influences from Van Halen to Aerosmith to as far as Deep Purple. Haunted by really bad luck from their previous record label, Androids never even had a chance to make it abroad. In Finland, Androids had a couple of hit singles, the first being the catchy rocker "Same As You". "Same As You" came with a matching video that was played over and over on national television between 1987-88. Androids other hit was an acoustic ballad called "When The Sun Turns To Rain" which won a national T.V. Show called "Levyraati" over Roxette's "Listen To Your Heart".
Androids one and only album "Let It All Out" was released exclusively in Finland and Spain. "Let It All Out" was only ever released on cassette tape and L.P. The "Let It All Out" album was due to be released in Japan but due to the financial problems occurring with the record company at the time, things fell through.
To me the Androids sound like a Treat/Europe mix with a singer that is a dead ringer for Mike Tramp of White Lion fame. So if you are into any of that classic European Hard Rock/AOR, these guys are definitely for you. "Let It All Out" was also recorded in the best sound studio in Sweden and subsequently has floorless production.

Birmingham has always been recognised as producing famous rock and heavy metal bands, Black Sabbath being the most notable,and of course the great Magnum. Following in the tradition of such household names is Angel House, a band who play their own brand of hard rock music, with a 70’s and 80’s influence. They already have a great following thanks to their awesome live set.
They haveopened for such bands as Blue Oyster Cult, Tyketto and Mountain as well as headlining their own tours.
In 2004 due to popular request they produced a two track single featuring the fan’s favourite – Superstitious Woman – and managed to
get airplay on BBC Radio and Radio Gets Wild. They won an award on RGW and they shared the best band slot with Las Vegas
band “Dark Life”. They are held in high esteem, especially in the USA where they have toured the west coast.
They have since gathered an army of fans due to sheer determination.
In 2007 they released their debut album “World on Fire” produced by Mark Stuart of Magnum fame. The release saw the band receive
excellent reviews and has prompted some to predict the re-emergence of a new strain of NWOBHM with Angel House leading the way. The band, consisting of only three members; Pete, Simon and Phil are regarded as a no-nonsense trio who just get on with the job in hand.
After recent appearances in the UK with bands such as Tygers of pan tang, John Waite and Von Groove, Angel House have returned
to the studio and are poised to release their second album “The Gun, The Love and the Cross”, once again with producer Mark Stuart.

Confessions
The swedish band “Angeline” already looks back on more than two decades in their vivid band history. After the bands foundation back in 1987 when most of the boys were still in their teens, they played their first gigs together, recorded a couple of demo songs and participated sucessfully in some musical contests.
The position of the vocalist however was an ill-fated one due to original singer Jörgen “Sigge” Sigvardsson's bad heart condition from which he suffered his entire life and which caused complications during his recovery after undergoing surgery leading to his untimely passing in 1995. During the years before “Sigge's” death the band celebrated some decent success with their live performances, which even lead to a couple of short concert trips to Italy. They also released some of their songs on the Mini-LP “Don't Settle For Second Best” (1990) and the CD Single “Rain” (1994). However a full album was denied the band during their early years.
Also the approach to try out a different singer didn't lead to the success they had hoped for, so guitar player Jocke Nilsson took over the lead vocals and the band decided to become a full blown cover band which seemed to be the best choice, at least from a financial point of view. In 1997 they even recorded an album of cover versions, which was produced by Mats Lindfors (Europe, The Poodles, H.E.A.T.), who had already overseen the recordings of an unreleased 3-track demo a couple of years earlier. Besides Jocke the 1997 version of the band included guitar player Janne Arkegren and drummer Tobbe Jonsson from the current Angeline line-up, after bassist Uffe Nilsson had temporarily left “Angeline” by the end of 1995.The transitional stage as a cover band lasted until 2001 when the formation eventually disbanded.
The contact among the band members still remained, also because of the bi-annual Family day that was held since 1997 in memory of the late vocalist Jörgen “Sigge” Sigvardsson. In 2007 the former members of “Angeline” decided to perform a one-off show on this special day to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the band. Much to their surprise they realised that a new generation of Angeline fans had grown. Based on this pleasant surprise the four began to write and record new songs which ultimately led to the release of their first full length album of all original new material in more than twenty years. “Confessions” sees the boys very cleverly combine the musical elements of the Melodic Rock, that was popular when they first started out, with supercatchy hooklines, multi layered harmonies and modern Rock sounds.
The production of Jocke Nilsson sounds very big and powerful, which suits the guitar sound of the songs of “Angeline” extremely well. Both the vast number of riff oriented Rockers like “Pray!”, “Rock Of Ages”, ”Another Night”, “Blackout”, “Part Of Evolution”, “Good Is Getting Better” and “Someday Somehow” and “Love & Affection” and “Fuel To Your Fire” with its funky licks lead to catchy choruses bringing back great memories of the of the best days of Harem Scarem, the British band Gun and the Electric Boys, while adding the needed little extra to stand out from the crowd. And of course an outstanding Melodic Rock album like “Confessions” needs a larger-than-life ballad to be complete and “Miracles” is just that. (Words : Gregor Klee)

This DVD contains a complete and incredible concert performed at London's Hammersmith Odeon during the band's 1981 tour of the UK. They formed in late 1969 in Halifax, Nova Scotia and their first hit, "Fast Train," appeared in 1971, the same year as the self-titled debut album. The next year brought the band's first Canadian number one single, "You Could Have Been a Lady," from the On Record album. In 1976, The Whole World's Goin' Crazy became the first Canadian album to go platinum and their resulting tour was the first to gross one million dollars. After 1978's First Glance and 1979's Harder...Faster, 'Just Between You and Me' became April Wine's biggest U.S. hit. The single (one of three Top 40 American singles by the band) propelled 1981's Nature of the Beast album to platinum-record status. 1984's Animal Grace was their last album, but in the early 1990's all the original members joined for a Canadian tour, which convinced them to resume recording, they are still recording and touring the world to their ever-loyal fan-base.

Shambala
This is South American sympho-prog/Power Metal that draws a lot on bands like Angra or Pagan's Mind, with crystal-clear production, smooth vocals melodies, and some impressive musicianship. That alone isn't enough to lift this above the general sea of similar bands, and indeed, a lot of this album is decent but overly familiar, from the Domine-esque "Child Of The Universe" through the sickly-sweet "Heart Of The Gods". "Firewings is pretty laughable, as it is the "Hyborean" theme from the Conan score reworked into a power ballad. All of this is competent, but not really arresting.
But on several tracks - "Expedition", the title track, and the nine-minute showstopper "Into The Forest" - Aquaria strike out into new territory, and the results are both original and rather amazing. On these songs they have included traditional South American folk-dance melodies and instrumentation to create a hybrid sound somewhere between Anubis Gate and the Native Flute Ensemble. Highlighted by powerful vocals and catchy melodies, these tracks really stand out, especially "Into The Forest" with its tour-de-force composition and searing vocals combined with Samba/Mideast dance rhythms. I know how that sounds, but it works. It really does. It's pretty fruity, but I can't lie and say I don't really like it when I do.

Fear Factory members Christian Olde Wolbers (guitar) and Raymond Herrera (drums) are proud to announce the debut album of their new group, Arkaea. The band also features one of metal's hungriest young singers, Jon Howard (Threat Signal).
Arkaea has just finished up preproduction and are scheduled to enter the studio to begin recording. This album promises to be as pummeling as anything the gold-selling team of Olde Wolbers and Herrera has ever written.
Olde Wolbers comments: "These songs were designed like the Fear Factory songs that Raymond and I always wrote. However, we've been able to push the boundaries and go out of that context, while remaining heavy."
"Christian and Ray have been writing together for many years, so the music does have a lot of Fear Factory elements," adds Howard. "However, we've been open to trying different things. It basically fuses what I have been doing vocally in Threat Signal with driving Fear Factory rhythms, along with some of our own experimentation. The idea behind the project is to be heavy, but maintain melody at the same time."
Howard has been a part of the Fear Factory family ever since Olde Wolbers served as producer for Threat Signal's debut, Under Reprisal. Given that connection, the chemistry was there the instant the band started playing together.

The Dawn Of Enlightement
Armory is a metal band that hails from Townsend, Massachusetts USA and was formed in the summer of 2001 by Chad Fisher and Joe Kurland. Heavily influenced by European power metal along with 80’s traditional metal, the band wanted to develop a sound taking advantage of both styles. In an effort to be even more original, they also wanted to incorporate sounds from other genres, such as thrash and progressive metal. After several months of intense writing together, the music for 10 original songs emerged, and thus Armory’s first album was basically written. While the drums were recorded by Joe and the guitars by Chad and Joe, certain key elements of the band were missing. The incredible voice of Adam Kurland (Joe's brother) was called upon to deliver the needed power, emotion, and tone. Thomas Preziosi also joined the ranks on bass, offering a classic Steve Harris-influenced style. Ironically, all of these members were teenagers in the same high school and close friends with the same heavy metal passion prior to the formation of the band. The song writing, recording, and mixing took three years to perfect because the songs were meticulously revised and constantly re-recorded and the members had been extremely busy while trying to balance music with school. The lyrics centered mostly on philosophical topics combined with epic fantasy ingredients and were mostly written by Adam Kurland and Jason Kurland (the eldest Kurland brother). In 2004 they finally released the full-length album entitled “The Dawn Of Enlightenment”. Although the album was well received, it was not highly promoted. There were a few things that were keeping the album from being recognized more seriously in the metal community; namely the sound quality and overall album package were not as professional as the band had intended.

Their debut LP and the follow-up "Terror Squad" have gained a legendary status, becoming some of the most thrilling thrash releases of the late 80's. The band wrote killer riffs and their guitar tones on the debut album were heavily distorted much like their German thrash counterparts. "Time Has Come", the number opening the album, is a perfect example of a great thrash song. It's fast and furious but changes several times. For years this album was nearly impossible to find, other than on the double album release with their second album "Terror Squad". However, that pressing omitted "King Thy Name Is Slayer" and the title track. New digipak edition includes 7 bonus tracks. Digitally remastered using 24-Bit process on golden disc.
