GAIA EPICUS's video for the song "New Life" can be viewed below. The clip features home video footage taken during 2006, including from the recording sessions for the group's last CD, various live shows and from the band's visit to Minneapolis in August 2006. The track comes off GAIA EPICUS's third album, "Victory", which was released in January through the band's own label, Epicus Records.
GAIA EPICUS mainman Thomas C. Hansen is scheduled to release his debut solo album, "Like a Shadows", via Epicus Records. According to a press release, the CD contains 11 tracks, eight of which are instrumentals. All instruments on the album are played by Thomas except a few small guest parts with trumpets, flute and female vocals. The music is described as "melodic hard rock/metal with some progressive elements."

This release was recorded during the 1993 Melodic Metal Tour at Hamburg’s Dock’s venue on September 25, sharing the bill with fellow German headbangers Rage, whose performance has also been released on DVD and the review can be seen here.
The lineup for this show consisted of Ralf Scheepers on lead vocals, Kai Hansen on guitar, Dirk Schlachter on guitar and keyboards, Jan Rubach on bass and Thomas Nack on drums. The show was to see one of the last performances of Scheepers as he left the band soon after this tour.
Based on a three album recording career including the albums Heading For Tomorrow, Sigh No More and Insanity and Genius the band had an established fan base coming into this tour. The show is a mix of live performances and interviews, giving a great insight into the show but also to some behind the scenes goings on. It also includes footage in the recording studio for the production of the Insanity and Genius album.

The names may be recognized from such artists as Yngwie Malmsteen, Hammerfall, John Norum, Silver Mountain, Snake Charmer, Glory, Brazen Abbot, Jean Beauvoir and A.R.K, just to name a few. They have joined forces with guitarist and songwriter talent Ralf Jedestedt who makes his record debut with this album. Ralf is the actual brain behind GEFF. The story behind GEFF is quit simple. Ralf, an old time friend of both Per and Anders, played a couple of songs to Per, asking him if he would consider recording an album in his studio and also do the bass parts. Then they simply gathered a couple of highly regarded musicians, also old time friends, which are considered as being natural and important parts of the Swedish heavy metal and hard rock history. Göran helped Ralf to complete the songs and the arrangements were done by the group. Jens Johansson (keyboards), of Stratovarius fame, was hanging out at the studio at one occasion. He was asked to do a guest appearance on one of the album tracks. He came up with what might be one of his best solos ever. The members strongly believe in GEFF. Therefore the same line-up will record more albums in the future. Actually they are already in the pre-production procedure for a second album.

Giant was formed by some of the most sought after backing musicians in the business, including singer/guitarist Dann Huff, his brother Dave on drums, guitarist Mike Brignardello, and bassist Alan Pasqua. After working with a wide array of artists from Whitesnake to Madonna, as well as spending time in Christian rock band White Heart, the Huff brothers put together Giant and took the melodic rock world by storm. 1989's “Last of the Runaways” was the band's debut album, and it's pretty incredible. Promise Land
After recording two albums with christian rockers Whiteheart in the early 80's and having made a name as session players in the Pop and Rock scene, guitarist / vocalist Dann Huff and his drummer brother David hooked up with Alan Pasqua, an experienced keyboards player which lent his talents to loads of Jazz and Rock artists and Nashville session bass player Mike Brignardello to form Giant.
They eventually signed with A&M Records and released 1989's “Last of the Runaways”, featuring a classic, melodic hard rock sound, which yielded a top-twenty hit with "I'll See You in My Dreams". Giant’s debut album is still regarded nowadays as one of the highest points in melodic hard rock of the end of the eighties melting diverse influences such as Van Halen, Journey and U2 to create an instantly recognizable sound. After countless tours and live performances in the US and Europe, the band recorded the follow up album Time to Burn in 1991. Slightly more aggressive than it's predecessor, but still magnificent in the production and songwriting departments. this album is also regarded as a main source of influence for many melodic and hard rock bands nowadays.
Soon after the release of “Time To Burn”, Alan Pasqua decided to quit the band and went back to session work. The band toured once again Europe and US without him, but soon after disbanded. Dann Huff then became one of the most respected producers of our era, working in the Rock, Pop and Country Music with countless artists including Shania Twain, Megadeth, Faith Hill and several others. His brother David also started to become more and more involved in the production business and thanks to a mutual friend he was introduced in 1999 to Frontiers Records managers Serafino Perugino and Mario de Riso. This eventually brought to a meeting in Chicago were the label proposed David to bring back the name and the music of such a great band. The “III” album was released in 2001 with major acclaim in the Classic and Melodic Hard Rock community.
However Dann’s busy schedule along with the other members’ commitments, made the reunion impossible to carry on. However the vision of bringing back Giant as a living band unit with a recording and touring line-up and with of course the possibility to carry on the enormous legacy of the music produced so far with the same quality was raised a few times in conversations between David Huff and Frontiers. As time went by it became apparent that Dann Huff could not be a full part of this concept, even though he loved everything that Giant was. Thus original members, drummer David Huff and bassist Mike Brignardello, who wanted to go back to Rock, started an endless research for the right musicians that could be part of a renewed Giant line-up. And in the end the choice fell on singer extraordinaire Terry Brock (Strangeways, Seventh Key) and on John Roth (Winger) on guitars.
Dann Huff in any case participated to the songwriting co-writing with the new line-up members “Our Love”, “Double Trouble”, “Plenty of Love”, “Save Me” and offering songs from his catalogue, such as the title track, “Through My Eyes” (both co-written with Mark Spiro) and “Two Worlds”. Grand Lux was formed in Kristiansand Norway, by Ran Dee, Kirk Evin and B.D. Hughes in early 1999. Inspired by classic metal bands such as Dio, Kiss, Ozzy Ozbourne and Judas Priest, Grand Lux embarked upon their journey in the realms of Heavy Metal.
It didn't take long for Grand Lux to get well known in the local scene, thanks to their excellent musicianship, and of course their impressive live shows, filled with fire, pyro-effects and powerful heavy metal.
Late 2004, Grand Lux released their debut album, "Iron Will" on Norwegian Sand Records. The album got a great response from all over the world, and the demand for the band to play live increased heavily. Since the beginning, Grand Lux has played some great festivals - The Quart Festival included, Norway's largest music festival.
Early 2006, Grand Lux started to work on songs for a new album. The band came in contact with Sweden's Ulterium Records, and during summer 2006 a contract was signed. In November, Grand Lux entered Dub Studios in Kristiansand with Endre Kirkesola as engineer.
The result of this recording - the progression since "Iron Will" is overwhelming, the new album "Carved In Stone," is far superior that it's precursor. Grand Lux here delivers an album filled with great 80's Heavy Metal, and no fan of the genre will be dissapointed. Great musicianship, catchy and well written songs, and an excellent, crystal clear production makes this album a winner.
Grand Lux will surely continue their victory crusade around the world in the coming years. With a great album such as "Carved in stone," and their world-class live show, they simply can't fail.

Graven Image was formed in Los Angeles in 1992,at the tail end of when Metal reigned in the city of Angels. The band came together when singer Jimmy Williams met guitarist Brian Gartland in 1991. Williams was from the popular Akron, Ohio band US Metal - as well as vocal mentor for Ripper Owens (Judas Priest , Malmsteen , Winters Bane).
Gartland was from the popular Cleveland band Wretch, and the two moved to LA to pursue success with a new band. The union of Gartland and Williams led to another inception of Wretch in LA, which underwent several personnel changes until a chance meeting at a local watering hole led to the final inception of Graven Image, when bassist Rich Hansen, drummer Doug Clelland (both from LA band TAKARA), and MIRROR guitarist John Bigwood, joined together in 1992.
The band spent the next four years songwriting, recording demos, and building a following from it's many live performances in the LA area. A recording contract was offered to the band by Republic Records in 1993, which was later turned down. Graven Image was a popular draw in the LA club scene, receiving rave reviews from local magazines, and radio play on the famous KNAC. As shifts in musical trends saw the demise of both KNAC and the entire Metal scene, the band also saw a switch in drummers from Doug Clelland to Jerry Beller in 1994. Wishing Well
Greg Leon is a Los Angeles hard rock guitarist notable for his stints in Quiet Riot and Dokken. He was also in a pre-Mötley Crüe band with Tommy Lee called Suite 19. Leon is considered an influential and important musical personality in the Hollywood hard rock/heavy metal scene of the late 70s and early 80s, playing an integral part in the successive fortunes of the acts he was associated with. Greg later fronted the Greg Leon Invasion, with bassist Joey Vera(later of Armored Saint, Fate's Warning and Anthrax) and drummer Carl Elizondo (later of Jag Wire, and playing under the stage name Carl James). Elizondo and Vera's replacement, Chuck Stevens, played with Leon on the Greg Leon Invasion picture disc released by Azra/R2R in 1983. He took the place of Randy Rhoads in Quiet Riot, and as the pre-George Lynch guitarist in Dokken. During this period Leon also had a considerable local reputation as a guitar teacher, working at Randy Rhoads' mother's guitar studio in Burbank. Leon had several incarnations of the Invasion and played with various LA acts after his exciting early days. Leon also had a brief time with Greenworld Records' Midwestern act Vyper, while at the same time gathering a name for himself as a guitar amp modifying specialist. In the late 90s, Leon fronted a band called Wishing Well which also featured Survivor drummer Marc Droubay and English-born bassist Stuart Brooks (ex-Black Cat Bones, Leafhound). The trio released their eponymous debut album in 1997. However, by 2003 Leon was once again playing the LA club scene under the name The Greg Leon Invasion, featuring Boston-born bassist George Roelke, taking the group for a European festival tour in 2005 on the strength of new recordings, coupled with the myth related to his name.

Dio, Iron Maiden and Whitesnake and not too far from the music-offer that artist like Jorn Lande and Jeff Scott Soto brought to the Hard Rock/Metal fans during these last years! Especially the singer, Jorgen Soderberg, uses his voice with that typical vibrato that reminds me of a singer like Bruce Dickinson. And I really love it!
Apart from that, the songs here show a tight and solid band that can deliver some great Metal stuff as well as some more melodic tunes. And everything has been enriched by a powerful production. Fans of Melodic Metal and powerful Hard Rock should not lose the chance to check out this Cd!

Gynger Lynn formed in 1989 when bassist Jim Stuppy paid a visit to Dean Pressley, the lead singer and guitarist for Chicago-based band Cheri Lane. Jim and Dean spent the entire afternoon talking about collaborating. Over the course of the same day, Jim would eventually introduce Dean to Will Hair, who in turn called drummer Frank Paul that same evening. The four musicians spent the next two weeks writing and playing in Frank’s basement.
Within a month, the newly formed Gynger Lynn had hit “The Windy City” like a ferocious storm. Local management companies and producers began to take notice. After recording two demo cassettes at The Playroom with Joe Bader at the helm, building the perfect road crew, and continuously writing new material, Gynger Lynn was off to conquer the Chicago music scene. The band played six to eight shows a month, rehearsed five days a week, and basically lived the rock-n-roll lifestyle to its fullest.
Over the course of the next couple of months, Gynger Lynn would gain interest from Hounds and Columbia recording artist John Hunter. John would soon become the band’s long time manager and was determined to see the Gynger Lynn maximize their musical talents and showmanship. John later took the band to Chicago Recording Company to record some of the band’s best material with Chris Sheppard. Gynger Lynn would also begin to open for many national acts such as Doro, Tony MaCalpine, Tuff, Lillian Axe, Helix, Blue Oyster Cult, and many others. Gynger Lynn would also share the stage with such local acts as Smash Alley, Ript, Little Venus, Nikki Foxx, Onyx, and many others.
Although times were good for Gynger Lynn, changes began to develop about midway through with Frank and Dean and their collaboration. Ergo, the side projects were short lived. Frank had decided to pursue a different genre and has since gone on to become a great country, pop, and Christian recording artist. Frank can be found by visiting www.frankpaul.com.
Dean would soon head back to Gynger Lynn and at the same time would add two new band members with Gavin Jadwin on keyboards and Luke James Lorraine on drums. Gynger Lynn was now a five piece machine and was ready to get back to business as usual. The band went back to six to eight shows a month, often playing double shows on weekends. Known for their punked-up version of “The Time Warp,” lots of silly string, sufficient supply of beer, beautiful girls at all of the shows, broken guitars, plenty of original material, hard work, and most importantly high-energy, Gynger Lynn never had to worry about giving the same show twice and appeared to be on their way.
Gynger Lynn was also beginning to play showcases for and meeting with many of the music industry’s top record executives from Warner Brothers, RCA, Columbia, Capital, and Geffen. The band would also see plenty of air time on The Spirit of Chicago 103.5 the Blaze.
In 1994, Gynger Lynn would eventually go their own way, as the record industry was no longer interested in signing bands of this nature. However, it was an incredible five year ride. Gynger Lynn had recorded a few dozen studio tracks, played hundreds of shows, and still remain friends to this day.
