The Winner
KAH-BOOM! remains one of the most enigmatic projects in the history of heavy metal.
Mysterious record was released only in Japan. The articles in music magazines wrote about several top artists from the USA decided to form a band and record incognito outside the country. Indie label Murasaki was established just for the case and the CD finaly saw the light via major Meldac label in 1995. Liner notes said the following: "American hard rock super group! Big names of American rock scene joined together in this mysterious project to bring you thrilling power of real hard rock!"... The only possible evidence was a small photo with the line-up. Needless to say all musicians wore sunglasses so no one could tell for sure who were they. The album became a subject of much controversy. "Red Rose", one of the best ballads ever written in hard rock, became a hit in Japan. Unfortunately, the record remained unknown outside Japan...

Ghost Opera - cd/dvd combo -
"Ghost Opera" was recorded and mixed at Gate Studios and Pathway Studios in Wolfsburg, Germany with producers Sascha Paeth and Miro. Artwork was handled by Mattias Noron with contributions by Alexandra V. Bach, Liliana Sanchez and Derek Gores. A limited-edition digipack version of the CD will include the bonus cut "The Pendulous Fall" along with a bonus DVD containing the video for the album's title track, "Ghost Opera", shot by director Ivan Colic of Serbias ICode Team as well as the making of the Ghost Opera video. The Limited Edition will contain a special extended booklet as well.
KAMELOT's guitarist Thomas Youngblood states: We are very excited about the new tour and album release this year. Ghost Opera is full of new and varied elements for us and the fans. This will be our most ambitious stage show ever as well.

The Norwegian formation KAMPFAR remains true once more to their primordial style and delivers raw Pagan Folklore Metal as it is meant to be heard. Piercing riffs, driving drums, and catchy melodies shape "Heimgang", but the sceptre can only fully swing with the help of charismatic frontman Dolk, whose unmistakable and unique vocal approach gives the songs the finishing touch. The dark and yet majestic atmosphere, both clean and harsh, is caught on tape by Rune Joergensen of Silverstone Studio, Norway. Who's The Boss In The Factory
For songwriter and producer Jonas Reingold, in his main profession bassist with Swedish prog rock act, The Flower Kings, his band Karmakanic is much more than merely a musical side show. Whenever he has the time, he devotes himself to the group which consists of a nucleus featuring Reingold himself, Göran Edman (vocals), Krister Jonsson (guitar), Lalle Larsson (keyboards) and Zoltan Csörsz (drums). “Karmakanic consists of a core band, with guests coming and going,” he explains the general principle of the group. The guests on their latest album, Who’s The Boss In The Factory, include renowned musicians such as his Flower Kings colleague Tomas Bodin (keyboards), Andy Tillison of The Tangent on Hammond organ, accordion player Lelo Nika, who has worked with jazz pianist Joe Zawinul, and tenor saxophonist Theo Travis, whose career résumé features renowned artists such as Robert Fripp, Gong and Soft Machine. This list indicates that Karmakanic consciously cover a wide stylistic range on Who´s The Boss In The Factory. Reingold: “I would describe the album as traditional classic progressive rock with some fusion and jazz thrown in. In a live environment, we extract the pieces and give the solo sections more space. I believe that we have some of the best players around, so it would be a shame not to let them shine.”

I'm Alive
KELLY KEAGY is better known as drummer / singer with the US Melodic Rock heroes NIGHT RANGER. NIGHT RANGER’s first album “Dawn Patrol” (1982), reached number 38 on the U.S. charts, yet it was 1983’s “Midnight Madness” that established the band as a commercial force. Featuring the hits “(You Can Still) Rock in America” and “Sister Christian”, the record peaked at number 15 and sold over 1 million copies. 1985’s “7 Wishes” was even more successful, reaching number 10 on the charts. The band reformed in the mid-90s and have since released 4 more albums.
In 2001, Kelly took a turn down the solo album trail. “Time Passes” saw Kelly handling drums and vocals and collaborating with such artists as Jim Peterik, Kevin Chalfant, Brian Bart with obvious features from his band mates Brad Gillis, Jack Blades and Jeff Watson.
To date, Kelly and NIGHT RANGER are busy working on a new studio album. But in the meanwhile he found the time and the inspiration to finish his second solo work entitled “I'm Alive”. The new record was written and produced by Keagy in cooperation with Jim Peterik (PRIDE OF LIONS, ex SURVIVOR) and also features contributions from Kelly’s THE MOB band mate Reb Beach (WINGER, WHITESNAKE), Mike Aquino (PRIDE OF LIONS, MECCA), Brian Bart, Bruce Gaitsch, Tommy Denander on guitar and Michael Lardie (GREAT WHITE, NIGHT RANGER) on keyboards among others.
The new album sees Keagy exploring a slightly rougher edge compared to his debut album with a more live feel in the mix. “I look forward to playing these songs live, as they were written to be played live”, says Kelly and the joyful ride that this record offers, proves just that!

Ken Ingwersen started playing classical guitar at the age of 10, but was soon spelled by the electric guitar and rock music, listening to acts like KISS, Van Halen, Thin Lizzy, Deep Purple and tons of other 70's and 80's rock bands. Spending his early teens playing in a few local bands in Oslo, Norway, the first real band making any fuzz was called LIMELIGHT. Instead of just doing a guitar instrumental album, which is something he finds too boring, he wanted to have real songs on the album and great singers. Although Kings Of Modesty hasn’t released any records earlier it’s members do have a lot of experience in music: Jason Flinck
plays bass and sings backing vocals in the band Brother Firetribe which is a sideproject with NIGHTWISH –guitarist Emppu
Vuorinen and LEVERAGE-singer Pekka Heino. Samuel Hjelt is former guitarist from the band called Ancara in which he did two
albums before concentrating in Kings Of Modesty.
So Kings of Modesty has been continuing a successful gigging circuit until the band wanted to start working to release their
excellent music in 2007 when Emppu Vuorinen, a guitarist of NIGHTWISH and a close friend to Kings of Modesty helped the
band to produce their promo EP. This included four brilliant songs: “Suicidal Mission”, “Staring Eyes”, “Tailspin” and “Miracle”.
Emppu also gave his visions into production and thus the promo EP was recorded at Emppu’s E-Major studios in 2007.
The Promo EP gained a lot of interest and “Miracle” was played by several radiostations in USA. The band continued working
hard and in the autumn of 2008 Samuel Hjelt and Jason Flinck started producing the debut album by Kings Of Modesty.
During the long months of autumn and winter new material was written and by the June of 2009 the debut album “Hell Or Highwater”
with 11 fantastic songs finally saw daylight.
Along with the new material Kings Of Modesty decided to appoint a manager to administer band’s business and hence
Jere Putkisaari joined the crew in spring of 2009. By that time Kings Of Modesty had achieved a lot of interest and started
negotiations with several record labels and after a while the band decided to sign a deal with Escape Music Ltd represented
by Khalil Turk. “Hell Or Highwater” is due to be released in all over Europe in 25th of September 2009.
The songs of coming debut were noticed immediately; although the album hadn’t been released yet, the opening track “Never
Touched The Rainbow” has already been played in radio stations in Europe
All songs has been written and produced by Samuel Hjelt and Jason Flinck except songs “Staring Eyes”, “Suicidal Mission”
and “Miracle” in which Raino Simoinen, Henrik Tuura and Mikael Hjelt also participated in producing. Mikael Hjelt has also
participated producing in songs “Deep Down” and “Two Hearts Collide”.
“Hell or Highwater” was mixed by LEVERAGE-guitar wizard Torsti Spoof and Jari Mikkola at the Studio Audio and mastered
in Finnvox Studios by Mika Jussila who has mastered also Nightwish Albums. Cover art was created by LEVERAGE-drummer
Valtteri Revonkorpi and Photos were taken by Kari “Carda” Helenius.

The unconventional arrangements of many of the tracks will surprise and delight many of his fans and more surprising is to see how well these songs sound with a basic acoustic arrangement, without the "useless weight" and with new keys. "Songs like 'In The Night' or 'When The Sinner', which were never favourites of mine, are much cooler and much more convincing now for my ears," says Michael.

The Campaign
Toby has had a long and storied career in heavy metal music. He signed with Shrapnel Records at the age of twenty, where he released his first instrumental solo cd Guitar Distortion. From there Toby formed the classic heavy metal band Onward, and was signed to the Century Media label. With Onward, Toby released two cds which were critically acclaimed. After Onward disbanded Toby went into the Black Metal genre, releasing a cd under the name of Waxen, and began his solo career once again. Two virtuoso type guitar releases followed, before Toby joined Darkane to be their touring guitarist in 2009. As 2010 is upon us, Toby is ready to unleash THE CAMPAIGN. However this time, Toby is not content with making another shredfest type cd. So he enlisted the help of four vocalists from different genres in the heavy metal realm. The group called "Kreyson" was founded in 1989. Their album "Andel na uteku" (Angel on the Run) was released in 1990. It was recorded in Hannover, where both Czech and English version emerged. The frontmen of the group were Ladislav Krizek and Jaroslav Barton who participated in music creation to a great extent. For the album �Andel na uteku� the group was awarded a Gold Disc. The next Gold Disc was awarded to them for an album called �Krizaci� (Crusaders). Kreyson was met with great success in Germany and Japan in the 1990s. Lada Krizek (vocalist) was invited by Running Wild to record two CDs. Ladislav Krizek has been awarded 1 Diamond and 6 Gold Discs, as founder of KREYSON, the first white (Christian) metal group from the heart of Europe.
�Hailing from Czechoslovakia, Kreyson is a professional band, which could hold on its own in the Hollywood circuit or anywhere else.
Above the inscription and logo of KREYSON there is the Hebrew letter �TAU�, which is the last word for a letter of the Hebrew alphabet and its shape resembles to the cross before the desk with Pilate�s inscription was nailed to it. He letter �TAU� is mentioned in the Old Testament already � when in a difficult time for the people of Israel the prophet Ezekiel accepts a command from God to cross Jerusalem and with the sign of �TAU� to mark foreheads of men who sigh and moan over all the falsities that are committed in it (Ezekiel 9,3-4). Thus, �TAU� is a sign of repentance, humility and turning to God for both an individual and people. Christians soon recognized a sign of the cross in it.

Singer Marc Storace is the only member left of the classic line-up, but with Mandy Meier (ex-GOTTHARD) and Stefan Schwarzmann (ex-ACCEPT) KROKUS 2006 feature some very well known new members. “Hellraiser” delivers some riff-driven Hard Rock songs in the classic KROKUS style and similar to AC/DC. However, there are also some melodic songs inbetween (“Angel Of My Dreams”, “Midnite Fantasy”) and the fast-paced “Spirit Of The Night” could have easily appeared on an SAXON album. When it comes to the musicial impact Brazil is well known for their power metal bands and there was just one band (SILENT) which I still remem-ber as a proper melodic rock act. Things may change, cause with KRYSTAL TEARS the land of Samba and Football has a clear winner on offer, which sounds like a bastard son between AUTOGRAPH, HARLAN CAGE and let’s say ICON. Layers of keyboards meets crunchy guitars, which gives “A Brand New Life” a very melodic, but not too wimpy sound and as the production and vocals are also up to an international standard I can highly recommend this album to every 80s melodic rock- and AOR lover. What a nice surprise to start the new year with such a cracker !

After more than five years since his last solo release, veteran guitarist Bruce Kulick returns in early 2010 with BK3, an album guaranteed to surprise even longtime fans.
Kulick, who first gained notoriety as a member of Meat Loaf's Bat Out Of Hell touring band, may be best known for his twelve years (1984-1996) as lead guitarist of KISS, during which time he appeared on nine gold, two platinum and one multi-platinum KISS albums. It is, however, the wealth of experience he has gained in his 13 post-KISS years that shines through on BK3.
The album takes listeners for quite a ride over its twelve songs...from the frenetic and anger-fuelled "Fate" (co-written by Kevin Churko, known for his work with Ozzy Osbourne) to the philosophical and uplifting "Life." Never one to mind sharing the spotlight with other talented musicians, Kulick invited several guest artists to appear on BK3, including Gene Simmons of KISS on the anthemic "Ain't Gonna Die," Doug Fieger (lead vocalist of The Knack) on the soon-to-be pop classic "Dirty Girl," Tobias Sammett (EdGuy, Avantasia) and Eric Singer (KISS) on the fierce "I'm The Animal", Nick Simmons (son of Gene) on "Hand of the King", former Union cohort John Corabi on the moody "No Friend Of Mine," and guitar legend Steve Lukather (Toto) on the exciting instrumental "Between The Lines."
In addition to recording BK3, Kulick has been busy over the last 9 years...touring with legendary "American Band" Grand Funk Railroad (who perform over 50 concerts per year throughout the United States and Canada). Bruce has also visited Europe, Australia, South America, and Japan many times as both a solo artist and as a member of ESP (along with Eric Singer and John Corabi), produced in Los Angeles several up and coming artists, and has appeared at the Rock And Roll Fantasy Camps in Los Angeles, New York, and London.
Looking ahead to 2010, Bruce plans to take BK3 to his fans through as many avenues as possible, including live concerts, appearances at KISS Expos, and both print and online media. While there have been many milestones along the way in his 30+ years of performing and recording, BK3 marks a new pinnacle for Bruce Kulick.
