TALL STORIES was one of the last great bands of the MELODIC ROCK wave coming out in 1991 with a stunning debut album on Epic Records. They were signed to ESP management (Froeigner Damn Yankees) and have toured with MR. BIG after the release of their self titled album. However after the Grunge era exploded the band’s music was not in line anymore with their label’s request and was dropped. TALL STORIES continued to work on new material until the band finally split in 1995. Singer STEVE AUGERI received a call in 1997 from JOURNEY to take Steve Perry’s place in the band. For about 10 years he fronted one of the most popular Rock bands even releasing 2 studio albums, 1 Ep and 1 live DVD. He has performed in front of millions and has several fan pages on the internet. Following his departure from JOURNEY, Steve went back to his roots working again with his formed bandmates and completing (with the help of 3 amazing drummers: Bobby Rondinelli –ex RAINBOW, Nir Z – GENESIS and Rodney Howard – Avril Lavigne) the songs that were going to be released on the band’s second album. “Skyscraper” is now here and once again offers a wide variety of style and consistent songwriting all the way through. TALON is a 5 piece Hard Rock band from Northern California. Founded by guitarist Kory Voxen and drummer John Parker, they both had a strong desire to create well-written, high intensity songs. AN AXE TO GRIND" + "SOUL SURVIVOR
After two very successful glam/metal albums as the frontman for Shout, Frontline Records released Ken Tamplin's solo debut in 1990 on its Intense Records label, with the assistance of Lanny Cordola and Scott Van Zen. Since this solo debut was being recorded at the same time as Magdallan-Big Bang, the musical similarities are noticeable. An Axe To Grind is a dazzling compilation of guitar and vocal theatrics, sporting Ken's range-defining vocals, pop/metal guitar licks, and well-crafted songs. Arriving at a time when Christian metal suffered from inadequate songwriting, subpar production and boring presentation, Tamplin offered a breath of fresh air and excellence. An Axe To Grind was an experimental album, featuring eclectic outings with diverse session musicians and friends. Five tracks are instrumentals.
Most of the songs are typical songs in the Def Leppard vein, plus a couple of Petra-ish power ballads. By the time Soul Survivor came out, the breakup with Lanny Cordola had occurred, So Ken left most of the axe work to Scott Van Zen, sealing Ken's credentials as a great vocalist (with a four to five octave range) and songwriter. It moves even further toward the more commercial sound of Boston or Journey, mixing hard rock tracks with art-rock meanderings.
In In 1999 KMG Records released a '2-for-1' CD re-issue containing most of the songs from both albums. Musically typical Swiss/German Melodic Hardrock with big riffs and catchy melodic singable choruses, in the style of SHAKRA, BONFIRE, CRYSTAL BALL, KROKUS, EVIDENCE ONE (and also VENGEANCE), yet not as good as those bands. Nevertheless, this is a high quality Melodic Hardrock release with as highlights the songs “Grow”, “I’m Back” and “Do You Understand”. Here and there the songs sound a bit simple/average, but in general a nice CD, like the last VENGEANCE, though a bit less interesting and the band should have left out closing track “Bluesman” which is a remake of the POISON track “Every Rose Has It’s Thorn”.

Tempestt Bring 'Em On - Tempestt from Sao Paolo/ Brazil started in the late 90's with playing covers of bands like Journey, Kansas, Europe, Queen, Bon Jovi and Dream Theater. What specially caught the audience's attention was the form by which music was performed, and soon the cover band got a legion of admirers. After a short time, Tempestt played with Billy Sheehan and was chosen as the support band to the vocalist Jeff Scott Soto tour in Brazil. The Essential Collection
TEN celebrate their 10th Anniversary with the release of an “The Essentials” collection, a double CD divided into “Essential Rockers” and “Essential Ballads”.
Considered by many fans and critic as the best expression of British hard rock in the nineties: TEN released their first album in 1996. It only featured the nucleus of the band to come with Gary Hughes on vocals, Vinny Burns on guitars and drummer Greg Morgan both coming from DARE. After less than one year came "The Name Of the Rose", still today considered by many as the band's best album to date. The title track was voted “Song Of The Year” by the readers of Japan`s top rock magazine, BURRN! Both albums were produced by Gary Hughes and Mike Stone (of JOURNEY, WHITESNAKE fame). The band was then completed with John Halliwell (guitar), Ged Rylands (keyboards) and Shelley (also from DARE on bass). The next album, "The Robe" was a huge step forward in the sound of TEN, leading strongly towards epic and majestic atmospheres and influences. Songs like the title track, "Arcadia" and "Ten Fathoms Deep" are considered to be amongst the best expressions of the British hard rock of the 90's.
But their major commercial success especially in Europe came with their following album: “Spellbound”, in 1999. The record had all the elements which decreed the vast success of TEN within the hard rock fans: melody and class, but also power and epic atmospheres, inherited by the tradition of the British bands of the 70's such as RAINBOW, THIN LIZZY and U.F.O.
A few lineup changes (most notably Steve McKenna taking on bass duties and Don Airey and Paul Hodson later on keyboards) did not really change the musical styles and success of the band that also gathered a great exposure and acclaim with the following release “Babylon”, a concept album based on a futuristic story of a computer programmer and his tragical love affair.
The following two records “Far Beyond The World” (2001) and “Return to Evermore” (2004, which saw the debut of the new guitar ace Chris Francis, taking the place of Vinny Burns) served only to solidify the band’s reputation for great music and exquisite arrangements in great melodic hard rock fashion.
This brand new “Essentials” collection, apart from celebrating the first 10 years of the band, sees however a big difference however in comparison to the original material. In the words of Ten leader and singer Gary Hughes: "The tracks included are completely fresh recordings of the songs and more in keeping with the way the current line-up play the material, with new ideas on the old themes".
Ten's lineup has now evolved as follows with Gary Hughes on vocals; Chris Francis and John Halliwell on guitars, Steve McKenna on bass, Paul Hodson on keyboards and new drummer Lee Morris.
This collection serve as a fitting end to the first decade of the incredible success story of this band. A new album is being recorded right now for a spring 2006 release, at which time the band will undertake its biggest tour so far, taking in all of Europe and Japan.

TESLA debuted in 1986 with the release of the awesome “Mechanical Resonance”, a record which immediately showed how the band could rock their asses off with their straightforward approach, attitude and fantastic guitar harmonies. Their biggest break in the market came a few years later with the release of the “Five Men Acoustical Jam” an all acoustic live album released in 1990. Disbanded after the release of “Bust a Nut” in 1994, the band came back with their 5th album “Into the Now” in 2004.

REAL TO REEL - produced by TESLA and Tom Zutaut and recorded at the Sonic Ranch in Tornillo, TX - is a two-disc 25-song collection of classic rockers from the '60s and '70s, recorded through a vintage Neve console directly to Ampex 456 analog tape to capture the purity of these timeless and legendary songs. Songs include: "Space Truckin'," "I've Got A Feeling," "Ball of Confusion," "All The Young Dudes" and "Street Fighting Man."

Because we've always been on that borderline, we've never had to make the kinds of compromises that end up killing so many bands. As we see it, we're better off doing what we do best, especially since things seem to have turned full circle. Kids even have long hair again."
TESTAMENT recently recruited Paul Bostaph (SLAYER, EXODUS, FORBIDDEN, SYSTEMATIC) to play the drums on new CD. The group was previously rehearsing and writing new material with British drummer Nick Barker (CRADLE OF FILTH, DIMMU BORGIR), but Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and international work visa issues have prevented Barker from continuing to be involved in the project.
Bostaph, who was a member of TESTAMENT for a brief period starting around February 2004, had previously played several live dates with the group in 1992 and appeared on the band's 1993 live EP, "Return to the Apocalyptic City". He also toured with TESTAMENT in 2006.

Drawing inspiration from The Stones, The Dolls and The Underground (Rolling, New York and Velvet, respectively), The Throbs specialised in spiking old-fashioned rock‘n’roll with liberal helpings of psychedelia; their hair piled high, their paisley shirts slashed to the waist, and wearing enough mascara to paint the town black, they were the perfect (drinking) partners for a city short on sleep.
Once under the wing of studio veteran Bob Ezrin (Kiss, Alice Cooper, Pink Floyd), they set about cutting their one and only album in what sounds like a hash-filled Turkish harem, with sitars & baglamas giving exotic support to the deeply rock‘n’ roll guitars. What’s more, critics – on both sides of the Atlantic – were quick to heap praise on the results, hailing The Throbs as the ‘new Guns N’Roses’; however, the band’s untempered enjoyment of the rock star lifestyle would ultimately lead to friction with their label (Geffen) and a premature demise.
One things’s for certain, though; ‘The Language Of Thieves And Vagabonds’ – all late nights, lost love and Little Richard on guest keys! – is very much a wrinkle-free release, having stood the test of time remarkably well. A PG (Pre-Grunge) classic? You betcha!

Sitra Ahra
A few of the songs on Sitra Ahra are written in recent years. The majority of the songs are from the same pool of songs from which Sirius B and Lemuria was created from, meaning they were written between 2000-2004 (there was even a song from 1999, but we decided not to use it on the album in the end).
By no means they are to be regarded as "leftovers". These where songs equal to those ending up on Lemuria and Sirius B, we just divided the songs we had on 3 albums. This really created a unique approach to the songs as I have evolved so much musically since those songs were written. I think of it in terms as a vintage wine that becomes better and better with the years.

Third Eye started as a band back in 2003. Martin Damgaard, Andreas Schumann, Thomas Kuhlmann and Rasmus Kostending had formed a band at a school for music and were playing different kinds of metal, when their teacher, Michael Bodin, asked if they would like to try some tunes he had written. Almost immediately the band felt connected through the music and Third Eye was a reality.
Things were going great, a lot of songs were written, but the band still needed a singer. After putting some tunes on the internet they got in touch with Casper Greiff. He had put some good vocals on some of the tunes and Third Eye agreed to start work with him. Soon after, they started to play gigs around the country and got a lot of great feedback.
It was agreed to start working on a full length album. A lot of energy was focused into this but in the process Casper slipped further away from the direction the rest of the band was headed. In the beginning of 2007 after a concert, Casper left the band. This was a great setback and it was discussed how to complete an album without a singer. Things should soon turn to the better though. After 6 months Michael randomly ran into Per Johansson. Per was really interested in the band, and he was introduced to some of their material. Per was hooked, and soon after, he started working on the vocals for the songs.
Spring 2008 the band headed to the studio to start the recording of what was to become the album: Recipe For Disaster. The recordings stretched for almost a year due to a lot of different setbacks. In the 11'Th hour the band even had to see keyboard player Rasmus Kostending leave the band, and it seemed that the album would get further delayed. Luckily Finn Zierler, from Beyond Twilight, stepped in and helped with keys on some of the songs. The rest was taken care of by Tommy Hansen at Jailhouse Studios. A year after Third Eye started recording, Tommy Hansen laid the final hand on the mixing and mastering. The album was ready to be revealed to the world. Easier said than done though. One more year should pass, struggling with different labels, before “Recipe For Disaster” was finally ready for the world, 2 years after starting the recordings. During this period Simon Krogh joined the band on keyboards. A long and hard journey was over. By coincidence the album title fitted the recording-process, even though it was created before the recording started
This fine release is a great metal album which will impress right from the start.

This 2 disc set was filmed in February 2006, whilst the band were in Japan to play 2 shows. More importantly the shows were arranged specifically to film them.
Disc 1 is the documentary. It follows the band around as they leave the UK and zoom off to Tokyo. It charts almost everything they did while they were there (for reasons of good taste we left out the vomiting), including:-

* Photos at the Emperor''s Palace.
* The boat trip (inc acoustic show).
* The late night radio show and acoustic performance (Danny & Luke).
* The Instore.

This documentary gives a real taste of what it''s like when the band go to Japan. It''s the next best thing to being there...

Robert Johnson’s Tombstone
Following the release of both “Shooting At The Sun” (2003) and “The Magnificent Seventh” (2005) on the Italian label, the new album is THUNDER’s third with Frontiers. “I think this new LP represents a natural continuation of the last record, it carries on where the last one finished”, said THUNDER singer Danny Bowes. “It was written and recorded in the same way as the last one, with Luke doing the majority of the writing and producing. The only real difference is that it was partly recorded in Spain this time, we locked ourselves away in a house in the hills overlooking the sea, just far enough away from the local nightlife to avoid getting into too much trouble too often. The continuing freedom from outside influences on us and our label means that we're still completely free to make music we like. We feel a bit like we're re-defining the sound and style of the band, and it happens a bit more with each record we release”.
When asked to describe the sound that makes up the new record, Bowes said “It's rootsy and blues based, sexy and dirty, and sad and melancholy in places too. I'm sure Thunder fans will love it, whether they're young or old (and for some strange reason we seem to be attracting lots of new young fans)”.

For the second time in their career THUNDER call it a day. „The EP Sessions 2007 – 2008“ is the band's farewell album and contains the material of the three exclusive EPs „The Joy Of Six“, „Half A Dozen Of The Others“ and „Six Of One“. The only songs missing are the two live tracks „A Million Faces“ and „Chain Reaction“, but that's bearable since most of the fans are anyway more into the studio material. Well, and that's exactly the point where this release becomes special. THUNDER didn't record any second-class songs for the EPs, they recorded song which are definitely on the same level as the material featured on their last two studio albums, „Robert Johnson's Tombstone“ and „Bang!“. The fast-paced and catchy „Survivor“, the heavy „Chain Reaction“, the softer „Bette Davis Meltdown“ or the light-footed acoustic Blues rocker „See My Baby Walking“ are shining examples for true, handmade and rough British Hard Rock in the vein of BAD COMPANY, early WHITESNAKE and LED ZEPPELIN. Thunderstone return with what they claim is a, “lesson in Power Metal but with bigger balls than most Thrash Metal bands.” They go on to say, “Evolution 4”.0 is a very charming album and there is a big chance you’ll fall in love with it after the first listen. No clichés – just pure metal. Whilst I didn’t exactly fall in love after the first listen, I was certainly pretty impressed. In Your Face
Divebomb Records is proud to present the first official (re)release of TKO's classic In Your Face album. Following the success of their 1979 debut, Let It Roll, TKO vocalist Brad Sinsel decidedly moved the band towards a considerably grittier edge and with a new lineup recorded In Your Face in Hawaii in the summer of 1981. Shockingly, this ground-breaking metal classic didn't see the light of day until 1984 via Combat Records and Music For Nations, at which time it still held up against the flood of metal releases marking metal's golden era. Indeed, the album is a metal classic by any standard including notable '80s hard rock anthems like "I Wanna Fight," "Give Into The Night," "End Of The Line" and "Working Girl." Sadly enough, TKO were continuously plagued by a revolving door of band members and were never really able to capitalize on the strength of the press and fan response to the mammoth stadium rock of In Your Face.
It's now 2008 (fully 27 years after it was recorded) and In Your Face still remains a smash slice of American metal, every bit as swaggering and expensive sounding as records from Ratt, Dokken, Motley Crue, Twisted Sister and Quiet Riot recorded years later. A proper release of In Your Face has been long overdue considering the countless bootlegs that have surfaced as well as a miserable attempt to release an inferior version of those sessions. The 2008 Divebomb Records issue contains not only the original version of In Your Face but previously unreleased remixes by original producer Rick Keefer who remixed the tracks before shutting down his studio in 2001.

Let It Roll
Drawing influence from other '70s rock acts like Boston, Heart and Journey, but maintaining a sound all their own, TKO garnered critical acclaim for their achievements. Even with the praise being thrown upon the band while opening for acts such as AC/DC, Van Halen, The Kinks and Cheap Trick, their label (Infinity Records) mismanaged money (apparently signing The Pope for $6 million) and went bankrupt soon after the album's release leaving TKO without a home. Despite the bottom falling out, the band pressed on in support of the material they had spent years perfecting, but eventually the Let It Roll-era lineup disbanded sending members to start new bands throughout Seattle, most notably, Rick Pierce eventually to Floyd Rose's Q5.
Vocalist Brad Sinsel however took TKO and pressed onward with a new lineup and grittier edge which can be heard on the album In Your Face, also reissued by Divebomb Records (DIVE001). A proper release of Let It Roll has been long overdue considering the countless bootlegs that have surfaced over the years. The 2008 Divebomb Records issue contains not only the original version of Let It Roll but a previously unreleased live radio performance recorded in 1978 for KZOK Seattle.

This is a very special record: a stripped down, reinvented retrospective of Tony Harnell's past classics originally recorded with his previous bands TNT, Westworld and Starbreaker, with one brand new song Anywhere But Here recorded especially for this release.
The idea of re-recording some repertoire classics came about after Tony performed some low key shows in New York in late 2008, with some talented and accomplished musicians that were not part of the Metal/Hard Rock scene. The desire was to breathe new life into the songs with new arrangements, key changes and added parts, it's like listening to songs you know in a whole new way.
Frontiers Records President, Serafino Perugino liked the concept and in Harnell's own words “The idea was originally based on it being the usual cliché “acoustic” album. Well, for us hard rockers that usually means simply playing the songs pretty much as they were but with acoustic guitars. That's not exactly what I had in mind. If I was going to do this I was going to have some fun. I wanted to strip things down and see what would happen when musicians outside the hard rock community played my songs. That intrigued me. So, I gave all the guys the original album versions and then pretty much gave them carte blanche to reinterpret the songs. That meant key changes (cause you can't sing like a banshee when you strip things down, sounds silly), chord changes and even arrangement changes if the mood hit. I also wanted a semi-live vibe. What we ended up with is an album that honors the original songs with a little added spice, color, and above all…fun”.
At the end of 2008 Tony and the other musicians entered the studio for a marathon two-day recording session that was supposed to lead into a whirlwind mixing session and an immediate release. But immediately after the session Tony hit some rather intense personal bumps in the road and production stopped. Months later the album was quickly completed. “Recording this album was an extremely cathartic experience, allowing me to gently close the door to the past with love and gratitude and regain the pride I rightly deserve to have for these songs and for the years of my life I gave to the various periods when they were written” continues Tony. “This is in no way meant to erase, dismiss or compete with the incredible original recordings of these songs. This is just a little fun reinvention, a way to leave the past behind on my own terms. These are your songs as much as they are mine, some of you, like me, have all kinds of memories attached to them. My lyrics were, are and always will be filled with my experiences, struggles, hopes and dreams and my observations of the world around me. Hopefully you'll listen to these songs in a new way and hear them with new ears. I know I have”.

Produced and recorded by the band over a period of about nine months at Phantom Studios in Los Angeles. Lukather notes, “The new album is fresh, heavier, at times more progressive and of course still with some great songs and melodies embodying the classic TOTO imprint!” Fans will find more than a few surprises on the record such as former member Steve Porcaro, former singer Joseph Williams’ cameo on a duet with Steve Lukather and guests such as Ian Anderson (JETHRO TULL), the CHICAGO horn section and Jason Scheff, L. Shenkar (PETER GABRIEL), legendary percussionist Lenny Castro, legendary saxophone player Tom Scott, Roy Hargrove and others. The band brought their personal bests into this project and invited many friends to drop by the party and participate. The result is a record that was very much a team effort and a joy to make. “If this is the last record we make (and I hope it wont be)”, concludes Lukather, “we can walk away knowing we threw down the best we got. Dirk & Phil grew up together in the small town of Cranston, RI and shared the deep love of rock music while performing in various bands together. Their passion for Boston, Deep Purple, Dokken is heard throughout "Poetic Justice".

We got back together in 2006 because we all missed playing together. We released a compilation album and did a tour, but we weren’t sure what to do next. In 2008 we all felt that we had an album to do, continues Wikström. I started demoing songs and in May 2009 we were ready to hit the studio.
Produced and recorded in Stockholm, Sweden by Anders Wikström, partly together with keyboard player Patrick Appelgren, “Coup de Grace”, is an album that’s going to stand out in a musical climate where mediocrity and superficiality are an asset but where talent, musicianship and dedication is not required to make the charts.
“Coup de Grace” includes the following tracks:

After EUROPE’s mega chartbuster “The Final Countdown” every Swedish major label was hunting down for the next potential follow up and TREAT where one of them. They never came close to the world wide success of Joey Tempest and his bunch, but both “Dreamhunter” and their previous release “The Pleasure Principle” still stands as two brilliant European AOR releases of the 80s. Digitally remastered “Dreamhunter” is full packed with hits. It’s hard to pick out stand out tracks while the overall quality is so high, but I would state the opening track “Sole Survivor”, “World Of Promises”, “Outlaw” and / or “Take Me On Your Wings” for prime examples of perfect Scandi AOR with killer hooklines.

Treat started life in 1982 as rock band with Swedish lyrics until drummer Mats “Dalton” Dahl joyned them in 1983. They recorded a demo for Polygram, which were looking for a Swedish hard rock band as a counterpart to Europe and signed them in 1984. One year later “Scratch And Bite” got released in 1985 and carried such great Scandi AOR tunes like “Scracth And Bite”, “Get You On The Run”, “Hidin’” or the killer ballad “We Are One”, which tuned out not as strong as their following classics “The Pleasure Principle” and “Dreamhunter”, but already proved the great potential of the band. This digitally remastered re-issue contains the entire live set from Firefest 2006 as a bonus on a separate DVD.

It didn’t happened that often that a band released two classic album within only one year, but TREAT were undoubtful one of them. Their second strike “The Pleasure Principle” and the follow up “Dreamhunter” were both phenomenal AOR albums full of killer tunes and both CDs were hard to find at the last few years, so this official reissues (digitally remastered) should please a lot of AOR maniacs. “The Pleasure Principle” (1986) contains some of the strongest Euro AOR tunes ever which could be easily described as a mix of 80s DOKKEN (“Under Lock And Key” era) and the mayjestic keys and hooklines out of the EUROPE master piece “The Final Countdown” – the ultimate Scandi AOR sound !!
