I Am Human
4Fourty was established in 2000 by lead vocalist, Steve Samson and guitarist, Owen Parker. The band gained popularity in 2001, with thier debute CD, I'm Not Odd, selling out many of Nashville's local rock clubs. While extensivley touring the mid-west, 4Fourty shared the stage with national acts such as Enuff z Enuff, Faster Pussycat, Kansas, Judas Priest, Sofa Kings, and more. By 2004, the band had achieved notoriety on the road as hard-hitting, high enegry rock performers. The band then returned to the studio in 2005, and went on to record two more albums; I Am Human, and III. The members of the band then pursued independent careers as Steve, being a producer/ songwriter in Nashville, and Owen, a session guitarist, in Los Angeles. In early 2007 the pair decided to colaborate on a new album, the result of which was Emotion Machine. A concept album, Emotion Machine, was a highly energetic, melody driven, government conspiracy, set to music. This album escalated to be their greatest accomplishment to date and would define a unique "sound" that is unmistakenly 4Fourty.

"Blood Of The Nations" was recorded at Backstage Studio in Derbyshire, England with acclaimed British producer and SABBAT guitarist Andy Sneap (MEGADETH, EXODUS, ARCH ENEMY, NEVERMORE). The CD — which marks the recording debut of the band's latest addition, vocalist Mark Tornillo (ex-TT QUICK) — contains around 14 tracks, including "The Abyss", "Shades Of Death", "Teutonic Terror", "Blood Of The Nations" and "Pandemic".
The first-ever concert by the new lineup of ACCEPT took place on May 8 at the 750-capacity New York City's Gramercy Theatre.
Regarding Tornillo's addition to ACCEPT, Hoffmann previously said, "It all happened in minutes. Peter and I were working on some tunes in a studio in New Jersey. Somebody suggested we give this guy Mark a call to see if he would join us on vocals. So when he arrived we started jamming on some old ACCEPT tunes — just for fun. Confessions
The swedish band “Angeline” already looks back on more than two decades in their vivid band history. After the bands foundation back in 1987 when most of the boys were still in their teens, they played their first gigs together, recorded a couple of demo songs and participated sucessfully in some musical contests.
The position of the vocalist however was an ill-fated one due to original singer Jörgen “Sigge” Sigvardsson's bad heart condition from which he suffered his entire life and which caused complications during his recovery after undergoing surgery leading to his untimely passing in 1995. During the years before “Sigge's” death the band celebrated some decent success with their live performances, which even lead to a couple of short concert trips to Italy. They also released some of their songs on the Mini-LP “Don't Settle For Second Best” (1990) and the CD Single “Rain” (1994). However a full album was denied the band during their early years.
Also the approach to try out a different singer didn't lead to the success they had hoped for, so guitar player Jocke Nilsson took over the lead vocals and the band decided to become a full blown cover band which seemed to be the best choice, at least from a financial point of view. In 1997 they even recorded an album of cover versions, which was produced by Mats Lindfors (Europe, The Poodles, H.E.A.T.), who had already overseen the recordings of an unreleased 3-track demo a couple of years earlier. Besides Jocke the 1997 version of the band included guitar player Janne Arkegren and drummer Tobbe Jonsson from the current Angeline line-up, after bassist Uffe Nilsson had temporarily left “Angeline” by the end of 1995.The transitional stage as a cover band lasted until 2001 when the formation eventually disbanded.
The contact among the band members still remained, also because of the bi-annual Family day that was held since 1997 in memory of the late vocalist Jörgen “Sigge” Sigvardsson. In 2007 the former members of “Angeline” decided to perform a one-off show on this special day to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the band. Much to their surprise they realised that a new generation of Angeline fans had grown. Based on this pleasant surprise the four began to write and record new songs which ultimately led to the release of their first full length album of all original new material in more than twenty years. “Confessions” sees the boys very cleverly combine the musical elements of the Melodic Rock, that was popular when they first started out, with supercatchy hooklines, multi layered harmonies and modern Rock sounds.
The production of Jocke Nilsson sounds very big and powerful, which suits the guitar sound of the songs of “Angeline” extremely well. Both the vast number of riff oriented Rockers like “Pray!”, “Rock Of Ages”, ”Another Night”, “Blackout”, “Part Of Evolution”, “Good Is Getting Better” and “Someday Somehow” and “Love & Affection” and “Fuel To Your Fire” with its funky licks lead to catchy choruses bringing back great memories of the of the best days of Harem Scarem, the British band Gun and the Electric Boys, while adding the needed little extra to stand out from the crowd. And of course an outstanding Melodic Rock album like “Confessions” needs a larger-than-life ballad to be complete and “Miracles” is just that. (Words : Gregor Klee)

Los Angeles 1990, David Reece and drummer Rusty Miller were ready to form a heavy but melodic Rock n Roll band named 'BANGALORE CHOIR' A place to look for great guitar players was the GIT in Hollywood so John Kirk and Danny Greenberg were found. Sharing the same musical vision the writing began. First songs were 'All or Nothin' and 'Slippin Away', both on the 'On Target' release. While rehearsing, John mentioned the guitarist Curt Mitchell who had worked with a previous group out of Reno, NV called 'Razormaid' so another great guitarist was found! Rusty Miller and the group parted ways, new drummer Darek Thomas Cava (ex Brunette) replaced him. After a couple shows they had offers from almost every label in town and settled with Giant Records and recorded 'On Target' released 1991/1992.
So now to the present, David Reece was asked to sing on Swedish rockers Gypsy Rose new record "Another World" in 2007 and while there they performed at the "Sweden Rock Festival". While speaking to his fans he was asked repeatedly about when there would be a new Bangalore Choir record? With the fantastic support from fans worldwide David reached out to guitarist Curt Mitchell and bassist Danny Greenberg asking if they would like to make a new record, both of them eagerly accepted the challenge. Also on this new record are guitarist Andy Susemihl of U.D.O. fame handeling songwriting and guitars as well as doing a masterful job on production and Hans in't Zandt on drums.
David Reece comments: "We knew if we were to make a new record that in order for it to be viable we had to keep some of the old formula that worked so well in the past which we have done! The new record by Bangalore Choir is called "Cadence" -- continuing with blistering guitars pounding rhythms and big hooky choruses."
Bangalore Choir will go on tour in Europe in early October 2010 playing such shows as the H.E.A.T. Festival as well as the Firefest in England we also plan to tour the Asian market as well as some U.S. dates.

On August 18th, 2007, Cry Wolf played together for the first time in nearly 15 years at Vinnie’s in Concord, CA. To celebrate this reunion, Cry Wolf recorded a three song EP (available on iTunes) featuring newly recorded versions of a few unreleased old favorites. The EP was produced by John Link and features Tim Hall (Lead Vocals), Steve McKnight (Guitar and Vocals), Phil Deckard (Bass and Vocals), and John Link (Drums). The reunion show also included original Cry Wolf drummer Paul Cancilla playing with the band on songs from their 1989 Japanese release "Cry Wolf" and 1990 US release "Crunch".
Cry Wolf has reformed with original members Tim Hall, Steve McKnight, Phil Deckard, and new drummer Chris Moore. A new, full CD is in the works for a 2009 release, as well as plans for a series of shows up and down the West Coast.

The Greek based outfit from Thessalonica, Crystal Tears has returned with their new released album, the successor of their previous and really great album” Choir Of Immortal” (2006). Since the releases of their previous album many changes took place, first of all Ian Parry took over the place behind the microphone stand, Ian Parry who is well known to the metal fans since he has been a member of many bands and projects and of course the lead singer of the Dutch progressive metallers Elegy, that especially in Greece has many fans. Crystal Tears also moved from Pure Steel records to 7Hard Records as well.
“Generation X” is the band’s second official album release that follows their classic power metal identity, with many up tempo parts, many melodic lines and of course follows also the classic power metal structure throughout their compositions. To be honest I spotted some specific parts that the band moves also into more progressive forms but without loosing their classic power metal feeling. Another factor that really made me fan of this album is the many changes of their guitar themes or just some great piece of riffing, something that tends to be wiped out these days, I don’t know maybe it’s out of date for some people. Dimitri’s leads and solos is another significant factor for this album to sound great as well. As for Ian Perry I feel like I don’t need to say anything, he is one the best vocalists out there and he proves that the best way. If we also add the very good clean production by R.D. Liapakis , then you can imagine the whole outcome, so “Generation X” in my opinion is an album that must get your attention, since it got mine who I am not a big fan of today’s power metal, but these guys make the difference.

Death Squad
Finally, the CD reissue of Darkness' debut, 'Death Squad'. Originally released in 1987, this album is a must for fans of Kreator, Destruction and Exumer. This excellent Battle Cry Records reissue adds 7 bonus tracks! The best thing about this album to me has always been the complex guitar solos, and the tight, rapid drumming. Lots of German high speed riffing here, that doesn't get boring! I bought this in around 1989 because I liked the cover art (sorta reminded me of the Slayer pic disc, plus members were baring MDC and DRI shirts on the back cover. The bands influence on me can be seen in a band I was in that named ourselves after the title of this album, DeathSquad. I love this one, always have.

Wishing Well
Greg Leon is a Los Angeles hard rock guitarist notable for his stints in Quiet Riot and Dokken. He was also in a pre-Mötley Crüe band with Tommy Lee called Suite 19. Leon is considered an influential and important musical personality in the Hollywood hard rock/heavy metal scene of the late 70s and early 80s, playing an integral part in the successive fortunes of the acts he was associated with. Greg later fronted the Greg Leon Invasion, with bassist Joey Vera(later of Armored Saint, Fate's Warning and Anthrax) and drummer Carl Elizondo (later of Jag Wire, and playing under the stage name Carl James). Elizondo and Vera's replacement, Chuck Stevens, played with Leon on the Greg Leon Invasion picture disc released by Azra/R2R in 1983. He took the place of Randy Rhoads in Quiet Riot, and as the pre-George Lynch guitarist in Dokken. During this period Leon also had a considerable local reputation as a guitar teacher, working at Randy Rhoads' mother's guitar studio in Burbank. Leon had several incarnations of the Invasion and played with various LA acts after his exciting early days. Leon also had a brief time with Greenworld Records' Midwestern act Vyper, while at the same time gathering a name for himself as a guitar amp modifying specialist. In the late 90s, Leon fronted a band called Wishing Well which also featured Survivor drummer Marc Droubay and English-born bassist Stuart Brooks (ex-Black Cat Bones, Leafhound). The trio released their eponymous debut album in 1997. However, by 2003 Leon was once again playing the LA club scene under the name The Greg Leon Invasion, featuring Boston-born bassist George Roelke, taking the group for a European festival tour in 2005 on the strength of new recordings, coupled with the myth related to his name.

Reincarnation
Ken Ingwersen started playing classical guitar at the age of 10, but was soon spelled by the electric guitar and rock music, listening to acts like KISS, Van Halen, Thin Lizzy, Deep Purple and tons of other 70's and 80's rock bands. Spending his early teens playing in a few local bands in Oslo, Norway, the first real band making any fuzz was called LIMELIGHT. Releasing a single on Polydor, and doing a tour with TNT, Ken got hungry for doing more music. He was soon hired as a guitar player for Evenrude, a norwegian singer signed by the infamous Clive Davis at Arista Records in the US.
After being involved in RAGS, SPEED, STREET LEGAL and the KEN HENSLEY BAND, Ken Ingwersen now delivers a solid rock album, and get back to his "roots". This is reflected in the title of the album; "Reincarnation". Instead of just doing a guitar instrumental album, which is something he finds too boring, he wanted to have real songs on the album and great singers. The album was originally recorded for a release in USA and Japan thru a major-label, and a promotional tour in the States (prior of the announced release) was set up, with gigs played at famous “Troubador”, “Foundation Forum” and “F.M. Station” in Los Angeles. Unfortunately things went bad, as the label supposed to release the album suddenly dropped the offer, so the band found itself with a great (and expensive!) album in its hands without a label ready to release it!
The album has a pure Party-Glam-Street Rock flavour, close to the sound of US bands like Poison, Pretty Boy Floyd and early Motley Crue.

Nuclear Winter
Orion’s Reign was born as an idea back in 2001 but it actually took flesh and blood in the late 2005 in the central Greek city of Athens. With that incarnation, formed without a singer, the band explored instrumental paths and produced two promo CDs (‘Steel horizon’ and ‘The Guiding Light’) which found remarkable acceptance and gained the interest of both metal fans and the press. The group entered a competition for the Greek Heavy Metal and Metal Hammer Magazine and won a place on their upcoming CD “The Hellenic Assault” with the song “Steel Horizons”.
In 2006 a page is turned in the band’s music approach to a more neoclassic–epic–power path and Yiannis joins the band as a lead singer. Shortly after the bands enters Fragile studios to record a 6-track EP, titled Beyond Eternity, including some songs from the upcoming full length release and a few other among them a Christmas cover of the song “The First Noel”. By the end of 2008 the band’s formation and the material receives extremely positive feedback as it has been sent to record labels, magazines all around the world, radio and tv stations. “The first Noel” is requested by a Greek Rock Radio station to be used as background music to its advertisement and it is also included in a Christmas compilation CD which cuts more than 5000 copies.
Beyond Eternity it was just a flavour of what was to follow and the band enters the studio once again like in trance to record with no rest the full length album. The recordings are completed by 2009 and CD is sent once again to label companies and magazines receiving flattering reviews (like the German Metal Hammer article which groups it in the most promising releases of the year, referring to the band as the power metal version of iron maiden and Yiannis as Dickinson’s Cousin.) By the end of 2009 beggining of 2010 Orion’s Reign come to an agreement With Rock It Up Records/ Ice Warrior Records and both parties finally sign a covenant and the collaboration begins. During January to March 2010 the band enters the studio again to record 5 brand new tracks, which are to be included in the Ice Warrior Deluxe Limited Edition Version on this release as bonus material. The Cd is entitled The Nuclear Winter considering 16 tracks and many guest appearances of bands like (Firewind, T.Ziras, Fragile Vastness, W.E.B. and more), planned to be of record store shelves worldwide in late April 2010.

For years now, Dirty Looks fans have sought after the hard-to-find and very limited two Rumbledog releases. When you could find a copy on eBay or Amazon, they often commanded a price in the $30-$50 range, which made it even more allusive to those fans of the Gritty Dirty Looks sound. FnA Records have taken both albums back into the studio and remastered them. They have been sonically enhanced and beefed up with a much fuller, broader, deeper sound. And for extra measure the overall volume levels have been cranked as well without losing the intensity of the original sound. But even better than that, the albums are now available at a decent price, with new artwork, and the fans can even buy a two-pack of both Rumbledog albums at an even further discounted price.
Rumbledog was a band formed by Henrik Ostergaard just after he decided to split up Dirty Looks in 1993. The first album, simply self-titled, came out in 1993 and saw many tunes of released material under Dirty Looks in original version or altered lyrics (and title track) and former members of Dirty Looks as well. The second and last album entitled "The Drowning Pool" came out in 1995 showed an evolution in the style and caught up to the sound of this era, surely influenced by the members recruited for the recording like Mike Smith on guitar (future-Limp Bizkit and Evolver), Jassen Wilber on bass and Ron Sutton on drums (both future-Burning Orange and Bernard Allison Band), and the contribution of Paul Lidel and Mike Ondrusek (ex-Dirty Looks).

For years now, Dirty Looks fans have sought after the hard-to-find and very limited two Rumbledog releases. When you could find a copy on eBay or Amazon, they often commanded a price in the $30-$50 range, which made it even more allusive to those fans of the Gritty Dirty Looks sound. FnA Records have taken both albums back into the studio and remastered them. They have been sonically enhanced and beefed up with a much fuller, broader, deeper sound. And for extra measure the overall volume levels have been cranked as well without losing the intensity of the original sound. But even better than that, the albums are now available at a decent price, with new artwork, and the fans can even buy a two-pack of both Rumbledog albums at an even further discounted price.
Rumbledog was a band formed by Henrik Ostergaard just after he decided to split up Dirty Looks in 1993. The first album, simply self-titled, came out in 1993 and saw many tunes of released material under Dirty Looks in original version or altered lyrics (and title track) and former members of Dirty Looks as well. The second and last album entitled "The Drowning Pool" came out in 1995 showed an evolution in the style and caught up to the sound of this era, surely influenced by the members recruited for the recording like Mike Smith on guitar (future-Limp Bizkit and Evolver), Jassen Wilber on bass and Ron Sutton on drums (both future-Burning Orange and Bernard Allison Band), and the contribution of Paul Lidel and Mike Ondrusek (ex-Dirty Looks).

Scarlet was originally formed in the summer of 1983 by 4 friends from a Youth group in Tampa Florida. Originally as a studio project, the song "Friends" was birthed as a Demo and things would begin to take shape. Jeff and Ronnie carried on with the help of lifelong friend and studio drummer Mark Busto. The 3 went into the studio in 1984 and recorded "Stop Runnin" The song began to get air play on a local radio station and won a statewide songwriting contest. The Band won a thousand dollars and studio time which financed future recording sessions. "Stop Runnin" was submitted to "MTV's Basement Tapes" contest in 1983 and finished as a top 4 finalist. Acquiring Kip Thompson as a full time member, the group began play out and build their following. Returning to the studio in 1985, the band recorded anthem,"Were gonna Rock" and "The Armour" Local radio picked up and began playing "Were gonna Rock" The song began to win weekly listener voted contests as "King of the Mountain" for many weeks in a row. 1986 would soon bring change as the Band decided to go in a Heavier sounding direction and added drummer Jimmy Moore. "I Declare war" would birth from the next studio effort and begin the final chapter in the Band's saga. The final step of the Groups evolution was adding guitar phenom,"Michael E Flake" Michael's virtuoso sound was the perfect compliment to the groups direction. The Quartet would play many theaters and clubs through out central Florida. Scarlet would return to the studio one final time namely "Morrisound recording studio" to record 2 new songs. "Lisa" and "Right Reason" would be some of the bands finest recordings. Eventually parting in 1988, Ronnie and Michael would move to LA to pursue other avenues while Jeff and Jimmy would join Brett and Brad Warren to form "St Warren". Scarlet had a strong impact on the local Tampa Bay music scene. Their live shows with catchy songs and exciting stage show will always be remembered.

SHOOTING HEMLOCK was the brainchild of manager Brad Keene who had worked with guitar player Joe Stump (Boston, Massachusetts) on his solo projects. Brad wanted to put together a band comprised of members from different regions of the country, and with the addition of Jeff Tortora (Blue Man Group) and Jimmy Puma (Syracuse, New York) Brad had the monster rhythm section he had been searching for. Both Jeff and Jim were playing with Joey Belladonna from ANTHRAX at that time, and for one reason or another that didn't work out. Brad then set his sights on a lead vocalist to fill the last remaining slot in the lineup. Enter Brian Troch (Chicago, Illinois), who just had left the band CYCLONE TEMPLE. What ensued was a mixture of styles and influences that made a very different but awesome sound. The band wrote all their material via mail and e-mail and flew into one central location (Boston) to rehearse, do pre-production work and record the actual tracks. Brian would eventually move to Boston and the project was finished.

Umeå, the home town of Daniel Andersson and Stefan Olofsson, the brains behind the State Cows, is a city near the coast in the north of Sweden. It's one of the biggest and most renowned university cities of the country and it's widely known for its outstanding cultural life and the lively music scene. Umeå is home to many Westcoast devotees who have been fortunate to see live performances of Bill Champiln, Marc Jordan and the Jay Graydon All Star band in their town. In this creative environment Daniel and Stefan started out playing in different bands until their paths crossed during their studies at the Piteå School of Music. The first band they played in together was called “The Posers”, a Beatles tribute band. The first step towards Westcoast music was made by Daniel when he recorded the mini-album “DP”, together with bass player Peter Starefeldt.
Through a student exchange with the Musician's Institute in Los Angeles and with the help of their friends Ian and Marylou EalesDaniel and Stefan eventually became acquainted with L.A. and its music scene. Long lasting impressions were also left by meeting some of their musical idols like David Foster, Jay Graydon, Jason Scheff (Chicago), Jay Gruska (Maxus) and Jimmy Haslip (Yellowjackets, Gino Vannelli, Bruce Hornsby).
Back in Umeå they continued to play gigs with “The Posers” while they also started working on Daniel's solo album, which was subsequently released under the surprising title “Days in L.A.”. The CD was well received and the positive reactions to the slightly modern Westcoast approach on “Days in L.A.” intensified the ambition to record a full-fledged, no-compromise Westcoast / AOR record like they did them in the early 80s. Meanwhile they had also founded a Steely Dan tribute band called “2nd Arrangement”. The formation was short lived, nevertheless it was the origin of what became the State Cows. The song writing and the recordings of the new songs for the State Cows debut lasted for about two years. Daniel and Stefan worked meticulously on the song lyrics and the musical arrangements.
The musicians that were chosen to record the tracks are hand picked artists from the Swedish and Finnish music scene having played on an international level before. The big exception is Jay Graydon, whose guest appearance with a guitar solo on “New York Town” is a great coup and also an accolade by one of the real Greats of the Westcoast genre. All songs of the album are among the musicallybest efforts when it comes to Westcoast music to be recorded and released in the past two decades plus. Overwhelming evidence for this are the more than perfect arrangements, precisely played solos, skillfully used percussions and a real horn section. Everybody waiting for a second Airplay album or a follow-up to the third Pages record, loving the classic David Foster and Jay Graydon productions and regularly revisiting Steely Dan and the first Marc Jordan albums is most definitely in for a treat with the State Cows. This is a very special record: a stripped down, reinvented retrospective of Tony Harnell's past classics originally recorded with his previous bands TNT, Westworld and Starbreaker, with one brand new song Anywhere But Here recorded especially for this release.
The idea of re-recording some repertoire classics came about after Tony performed some low key shows in New York in late 2008, with some talented and accomplished musicians that were not part of the Metal/Hard Rock scene. The desire was to breathe new life into the songs with new arrangements, key changes and added parts, it's like listening to songs you know in a whole new way.
Frontiers Records President, Serafino Perugino liked the concept and in Harnell's own words “The idea was originally based on it being the usual cliché “acoustic” album. Well, for us hard rockers that usually means simply playing the songs pretty much as they were but with acoustic guitars. That's not exactly what I had in mind. If I was going to do this I was going to have some fun. I wanted to strip things down and see what would happen when musicians outside the hard rock community played my songs. That intrigued me. So, I gave all the guys the original album versions and then pretty much gave them carte blanche to reinterpret the songs. That meant key changes (cause you can't sing like a banshee when you strip things down, sounds silly), chord changes and even arrangement changes if the mood hit. I also wanted a semi-live vibe. What we ended up with is an album that honors the original songs with a little added spice, color, and above all…fun”.
At the end of 2008 Tony and the other musicians entered the studio for a marathon two-day recording session that was supposed to lead into a whirlwind mixing session and an immediate release. But immediately after the session Tony hit some rather intense personal bumps in the road and production stopped. Months later the album was quickly completed. “Recording this album was an extremely cathartic experience, allowing me to gently close the door to the past with love and gratitude and regain the pride I rightly deserve to have for these songs and for the years of my life I gave to the various periods when they were written” continues Tony. “This is in no way meant to erase, dismiss or compete with the incredible original recordings of these songs. This is just a little fun reinvention, a way to leave the past behind on my own terms. These are your songs as much as they are mine, some of you, like me, have all kinds of memories attached to them. Until the present day the very lively Rock music scene of Los Angeles during the 80s hasn't lost any of its cult like fascination. The Roxy, Whisky A Go-Go, Rainbow Bar And Grill on Sunset Strip und the Troubadour a little further south are the locations in West Hollywood in which the eventual mega sellers entered the stage and where they still hang around today every once in a while. This neighbourhood also seems to be made for a band like “Wheels Of Fire” and their band leader Davide “Dave Rox” Barbieri, who started his musical career as a keyboard player back in the early 90s in some local bands.
About ten years ago Dave discovered his passion for singing and to improve his skills he turned to Michele Luppi, who besides being a member of various bands, formerly of the Power Metal band Vision Divine and currently of the Melodic Metal act Killing Touch and the AOR project Los Angeles, is also active as a vocal coach. Before Dave made his dream of an “Old School” Melodic Rock album come true with “Wheels Of Fire”, he recorded the album "De Revelationibus Orbium Caelestium” with the Metal band Seventh Archangel in 2007. One year later “…As In A Deep Dream” with the Progressive Metal band Liquid Shadows followed. Beside the work in the studio Dave did a lot of gigs and meanwhile he is also a teacher for Modern Singing himself.
The foundation for “Wheels Of Fire” was layed back in 2006 when Michele Luppi heard some of Dave's demos and subsequently offered his help to record an album. Eventually Michele produced “Hollywood Rocks” together with Dave and Michele can also be heard playing grand piano and singing background vocals. The studio line-up is completed by guitar player Stefano Zeni, who is in a cover band together with Dave, Roberto Galli on bass, as well as Andrea Zingrillo on drums. Roberto Priori (Killing Touch, Michele Luppi's Heaven) took over the mix and the Mastering, and did an amazing job in delivering a great sounding record.
The songs of “Wheels Of Fire” are a captivating combination of all the elements that Melodic Rock and AOR fans love about this kind of music and that made these songs staples on mainstream radio twenty years ago. Pushed forward by powerful drums the mid- and uptempo rockers, like “Hollywood Rocks”, “You're So Cool”, “What I Want”, “Everywhere I Go”, “Live Again”, “The Reason”, “Relax” and “Rock The World” also shine with their melodic guitar riffs and a heathy dose of crystal clear keyboards. As expected the verses of the songs always lead to a super catchy chorus and are crowned with a guitar solo. Rock ballads have always been a big plus of the Melodic Rockers and so the band has paid very careful attention to the softer moments “I Can't Live Without You” and “Little Prayer”. They serve a decent portion of guitar power and the arrangements also include a grand piano, while the concluding master piece in this category, the bombastic eight minute epic “Love Nest” even adds a string section, making it a full blown wide screen listening experience. “Hollywood Rocks” is the very promising debut of a talented musician, who will also present his songs in a live setting over the next couple of months. In 2001, Wicked Sensation for the first time stepped into the spotlight of the international hard rock scene with their highly praised debut album “Reflected”. Shortly after, Wicked Sensation was featured in the press as "The Newcomer" of the year, and compared - but not least because of the charismatic voice of Robert Soeterboek - with well known bands like Whitesnake. Their debut "Reflected" was named album of the month in the Rock It! magazine and brought the band exclusive, above average reviews and ratings worldwide. While touring Europe accompanied by the English band Dare, Wicked Sensation was able to demonstrate impressively their qualities as well as their outstanding live performance.
Numerous shows and festivals followed the tour with bands like Saxon, Saga, Nazareth, Roger Chapman, M3 classic Whitesnake, Axxis, Vanden Plas, and many others. In 2004 Wicked Sensation released the follow-up album "Exceptional” and Fernando Garcia (ex-Victory) took over the vocals. Once again, Wicked Sensation received outstanding reviews internationally and again was named "Album of the Month" in the Spanish edition of Rock Hard magazine. After several gigs with this formation the band called it quits in 2006 due to musical differences. Michael Klein (founder, songwriter and guitarist of the band) never really wanted to close the topic Wicked Sensation. So in summer 2009, Michael and original singer Robert Soeterboek got back together to arrange a new collaboration. Also joined by bassist and producer Dennis Ward (Pink Cream 69) and drummer Dirk Bruinenberg (ex-Elegy/Bob Catley) the top-class album titled "Crystallized” was recorded.
"Crystallized" includes all the typical trademarks, which have made Wicked Sensation well known on their debut album, and flawlessly connects with the successes of the early days. Marked by the typical, strong production of Dennis Ward (Pink Cream 69), songs ranging from the driving and catchy melodic rock tune to bluesy and soulful inflected songs are featured, all which characterize the typical sound of Wicked Sensation. Again, singer Robert Soeterboek demonstrates the utmost impressive qualities of his vocal performance. Furthermore, "Crystallized" also includes a guest appearance by no other than Helloween's singer Andi Deris. With the high potential hit record "My Turn To Fly", Deris together with Robert gives this song a "certain something" to let this one for sure become a catchy hit track. Even Dutch guitarist Arjen Lucassen (Ayreon, Star One) involved himself to give the album a real rock classic with "Gimme The Night", as well as keyboarder Eric Ragno (Graham Bonnet) contributed keys on "Give It Up".
"Crystallized" impresses with a variety of first class songs, which definitely have a convincing impact. Due to the distinctive guitar playing and songwriting of Michael Klein together as a team with Robert Soeterboek and Dennis Ward, this new Wicked Sensation album will most certainly be the surprise of 2010!
