San Diego-based metallists CAGE are set to return on October 30th, with the release of their latest metallic tour de force, 'Ancient Evil,' which has been prefaced by a lyric video for the killer composition, "The Procedure".
"We really love how creepy the video came out, it's like a mini movie almost," explains singer Sean "The Hell Destroyer" Peck. "This song will give people a good idea of what they are in for on this massive, heavy metal, horror story thrill ride!" Rounding out the band are Dave "Conan" Garcia (guitars), Casey "The Sentinel" Trask (guitars), Alex "The Captain" Pickard (bass guitar), and Sean "The Thrash Machine" Elg (drums).
Based on a horror novel written by lead singer Sean Peck, 'Ancient Evil' continues the legacy of Cage as a heavy metal innovator. This nearly 80-minute monstrosity has 19 tracks that combine songs and narrated interludes to forge a unique musical journey that rocks!
However, according to Sean, making a concept record work is never an easy task - "With this being our 7th release, we wanted to try our hand at another concept album. We had great success with 'Hell Destroyer,' but doing a scary story type of thing and making the songs catchy and memorable while keeping the listener captivated by the content, is a real challenge."
The story's main character, Elliot Worthington, is played by none other than ex-Iron Maiden frontman Blaze Bayley. "I did not want to do any of the character voices this time, so we got some really great talent to act out the scenes. Blaze did an incredible job. His acting chops were freaking great, I have to say," says Peck. "The writing for this record came together effortlessly even though it was a concept record. It is pretty much just blazing fast the whole way through which is just how I like it!"
And soon, metalheads will be able to experience Cage's latest metal masterpiece.

Bob’s 6th solo album however brought changes again, as the songwriting was handled by guitar ace Magnus Karlsson (Starbreaker, Primal Fear, Allen / Lande). In 1998, Bob teamed up with TEN front man, and longstanding MAGNUM fan, Gary Hughes who wrote all the songs on his first three solo albums: "The Tower", "Legends" and "Middle Earth". These albums received not only critical but commercial successes. This reaction from the press summed up the exact aim of these releases perfectly: "Gary has captured that special feel and vibe of "On A Storyteller's Night" perfectly and wrapped it up beautifully in renaissance/symphonic style instrumentation, with big grandiose almost epic film score like production schemes". Bob made his debut solo appearance at The GODS '98 in November, performing a show stopping set featuring tracks form "The Tower" as well as classic MAGNUM songs. Again, such was the response from critics and fans alike that a full UK tour was booked and Bob’s solo career has gone from strength to strength from then on. Not content with merely releasing solo albums, Bob has committed himself fully to the role and has performed 70 shows as a solo artist, in countries including the UK, Germany, Spain, Benelux and Italy. All this whilst continuing first as a member of HARD RAIN and more recently as the front man of the reformed MAGNUM line-up. After three albums together and so many other commitments on both sides it was decided that long time keyboard player, Paul Hodson, would write Bob’s fourth solo album. The style of Paul`s writing complemented the master’s voice and with an added edge of classic Dio-esque metal, "When Empires Burn" brought Bob’s music to a metal oriented audience as well as pleasing the existing fan base. As Bob himself has stated: "This is my Heavy Metal album. I`ve always wanted to do something like this". Another change has happened with this new album as Bob is now singing on songs especially written for him by his longtime collaborator Vince O`Regan and another two british songwriters Dave Thompson and Paul Uttley. Once again the music is harder edged compared to the MAGNUM sound and closer to late 70’s RAINBOW and DIO sound. Again the inclusion of Bob`s live backing band as the performers on the album gives the material more of a band feel. Vince O`Regan is also featured on all guitars along with Irvin Parratt on keyboards, Al Barrow on bass and Jamie Little on drums. Bob Catley is set to present the album live in the UK and Europe during the Spring 2006. Don’t miss him!

Swiss rockers China released their debut album back in 1988 and now 2010 they are back for real with a brand new studio album called Light Up The Dark. This is their 5th studio album and only original member left is guitarist Claudio Matteo. The new line-up is Eric St. Michaels (he has sang on 2 China albums Go All The Way and Natural Groove), Mack Schildknecht (guitars), Beat (Brian) Kofmehl (bass) and Billy La Pietra (drums) strikes back with a melodic hardrock/rock album. China released a Best Of album in 2008 with 3 new tracks Girl On My Screen, Stay and Trapped In The City are included in this new one aswell but they have been re-recorded and slightly different arranged. The sound on this new album is very guitar oriented with lots of riffs. But they have not forgot how to bring melodies and hooks to the songs. If you remember how their Natural Groove album sounded like and mix that with Hardcore Superstar and Tesla with a modern production then you get the picture. When I listen to the album for the first time I did not know what to think about it. But after couple of spins I started to like this more and more. This ain''''t so bad after all this is straight in your face hardrock with some rock influences. The title track is a great rocker with strong riffs, melodies and the chorus is great. You can hear that this is China. Lonely Rider is a fantastic song with AOR influences and has a catchy chorus. This is the song that reminds most of the old China. Gates Of Heaven is a strong acoustic ballad with a Firehouse feel over it, great song. Then theirs the pop song On My Way that made me think of Cheap Trick, cool song. Right Here Right Now is a riff strong rocker with a hook laden chorus with great harmonies. The only song that I feel could have been left out is the boring Deadly Sweet. China are back and this is a not a bad album at all but if your waiting this to sound like the debut or Sign In The Sky then this is a album you can forget. But if your want your music rocking then give China a shot. Switzerland is not only Gotthard, Shakra and Krokus anymore, no now you can count China to that group. Welcome back and keep up the great work.

Hard rock icons Cinderella are back with a Live album featuring the all original line-up of Tom Keifer (vocals, guitar), Eric Brittingham (bass), Jeff LaBar (guitar) and Fred Coury (drums). Recorded during the VH1 sponsored the "Rock Never Stops" package tour, which Cinderella headlined, supported by Ratt, Quiet Riot and Firehouse, the show held in Uncasville, Connecticut on July 21, 2005 is now officially and integrally released as an appetizer to the ultimate live return of the band on the European soil, which is planned for the year 2010. Formed in Philadelphia in 1983 by singer/songwriter/guitarist Tom Keifer and bassist Eric Brittingham, they quickly added guitarist Jeff LaBar to the line-up. With Jody Cortez completing the band on drums, Cinderella started to write and perform original material in clubs and bars in Pennsylvania and New Jersey, until Jon Bon Jovi caught one of the performances and alerted his record company, Mercury, who immediately signed the band. Cinderella's debut album "Night Songs", was released in June 1986 and went on to sell over 3 million units, sporting such singles as "Shake Me", "Nobody's Fool" and "Somebody Save Me". Fred Coury replaced Cortez prior to the release of "Night Songs" and the band has remained unchanged since. Two years later Cinderella returned with their second album, "Long Cold Winter". The record was another huge success, selling in excess of 3 million copies with tracks like" Gypsy Road" and "Don't Know What You Got ('Til Its Gone)" becoming soon fan favourites. Their third album, "Heartbreak Station", was released in 1990 followed by "Still Climbing" in 1994. The later two albums featured songs more influenced by Keifer's love of the blues. Cinderella disbanded in 1995 but by 1998, there was interest by promoters for Cinderella to reunite in the original lineup for a tour. Cinderella were later signed to Sony's Portrait label by famed record executive John Kalodner, however the lack of success of the label's initial releases brought the cancellation of the deal as the label folded. Nevertheless, a faithful fan base supported the continued road work by the band, which reunited again in the summer of 2000 for a tour with Poison, followed by a second outing by the two groups in 2002 and regular live activity until 2006 which will be finally resumed during next year. Get ready for the return of Cinderella!

It's been so long that I surmised that the band, formed by excellent metal vocalist Chitral 'Chitty' Somapala, was simply a 'one-off' project. Essentially, it's good to have Chitty and C1 back in the melodic metal field. The second album, Calling The Gods, returns the band to their combination of melodic heavy and power metal.
Call C1s music as efficient or minimal, but they pack much into every song. Basically, CTG is classic heavy power metal with a powerful rhythm section and a great singer.

Holy shit, what a great leap forward! CLOUDSCAPE's self-titled debut was really promising, but I never knew they had such a strong follow-up in the can. However, “Crimson Skies” has become an improvement in all departments: better songwriting, better production, better playing and singing. So CLOUDSCAPE succeeded a classy album that comes close to THRESHOLD's latest masterpiece “Subsurface”. Both bands play Prog Metal with strong melodic influences and both have a nice balance of heavy guitars and atmospheric keyboards and nice vocals. All in all the CLOUDSCAPE material is maybe a little more anthemic, but I guess that complies with the Melodic Metal fans' wishes. The most outstanding songs on “Crimson Skies” are the fast-paced and heavily rocking opener “Shapeshifter”, the straight “Take The Blame”, the complex and very melodic “The Last Breath”, the dark and aggressive “Demon Tears” and the MASTERPLAN influenced “Someone Else”. As you see, CLOUDSCAPE's “Crimson Skies” offers many great songs. If you have a weakness for THRESHOLD and CONCEPTION, then make sure you get your hands on this album.

Special Deluxe Collector's Edition. Digitally remastered edition of the Canadian rockers' 1985 album including one bonus track. Toronto based four piece Coney Hatch were one of Canada's brightest hopes during the mid-eighties. They impressed fans and critics alike with their rambunctious brand of melodic hard rock, a sound imbued with a certain, some might say typically Canadian, quirkiness. Catchy, for sure, but also containing twists and turns that suggested the band had been students of a number of hard rockin' maple leaf acts from April Wine to the riff hungry swagger of Triumph and all points in between. Friction was the band's third and, as it turned out, their final album. It was a record designed to infiltrate the mass market, with catchy hooks and a selection of punishing riffs. Issued in 1985 and crafted by renowned British producer Max Norman (Ozzy Osbourne, Y&T, Lynch Mob) the record was received with great critical enthusiasm, but hit a brick wall at their record company. With Def Leppard and Bon Jovi receiving major promotional pushes, Coney Hatch were sidelined and left, without the financial budget, to fight their own corner. It was a crushing disappointment, leaving the band in a state of confusion and, ultimately, unable to carry on. Their legacy, however, continues to grow, with many citing Friction as their finest and, possibly, one of the best albums released that year.

CONSTANCIA started out as the brainchild of former SCUDIERO/TOKEN keyboard player Mikael Rosengren. He had written a bunch of songs that were just screaming to be completed, recorded and released. He got in touch with guitarist Janne Stark, who has previously released albums with bands like OVERDRIVE, LOCOMOTIVE BREATH, BALLS, ZELLO etc. asking him to lay down some guitars on the demos. Janne loved the songs and got even more involved in the guitar arrangements, and the seed of CONSTANCIA was planted.
“I’ve always been a fan of the pompy side of melodic hard rock and bands like CITY BOY, STYX and TRILLION as well as the real heavy stuff. I instantly felt these songs could be the perfect marriage between the melodic rock, some progressive moments and an aggressive touch added to it, which is when I came to think of the style description: - Melogressive Metal”, says Janne.
Next up was to find a drummer, where Janne had previously worked with TrumPeter Svensson both in LOCOMOTIVE BREATH and MOUNTAIN OF POWER. Peter is also found in doom-folk rockers FAITH. Mikael then found JADED HEART bass-player Michael Mueller, whom he met when their respective bands shared label.
After having tried out several singers Janne came to think of ANDROMEDA singer David Fremberg, who had also appeared on Janne’s MOUNTAIN OF POWER album. One vocal trial track later he became the band’s lead vocalist. The vast geographical differences not meaning any limitations, the album now started growing together piece by piece. It all amalgamated into an end result that is a true band effort.
“It was really interesting to see it merge together and like a small weed slowly rise and break through the asphalt to finally blossom when all the pieces came together”, says Janne who was appointed recording project manager. The band first tried out different engineers to mix the album, such as Beau Hill, Pontus Norgren, Pontus Lindmark and Pelle Saether, all of them doing a great job, but it was finally Fredrik Folkare (Unleashed, Eclipse, Siebenbürgen) that was chosen to mix the album.
“He found the essence of what we were after, the marriage between the melodic side and the heaviness” according to Mikael. The resulting debut album “Lost And Gone” is a true revelation for all lovers of Hard Rock with strong keyboards and brilliant vocal melodies.

Years later in 2015 i worked again with my old time friend Bob Katsionis on new music and in 2018 Symmetric Records finally released Costas Varras’s second solo album entitled “Neon-Classical”. At the moment I am working on my 3rd Album and now your Label is going to release my new single featuring the great American singer Mark Boals.
I love Metal & Rock music since 1991.I grew up listening bands like Metallica, Megadeth, Pantera,Black Sabbath,Manowar,Stratovarius,Rainbow,Dio, Iced Earth,Van Halen,Ozzy Osbourne,WASP, and many other famous and underground bands.

I’m planning to release my 3rd solo Album and then later on to go on Tour in Europe ,North America and Japan! I’m already talking with 2 booking agencies but things are not clear now cause of Covid.. So Hopefully in 2022 I will go on Tour.. In general I want to release more records in the future and eventually become a famous musician! That’s my target since I was very young!
I had the idea for this song back in 2007. I was at an airport in Germany and I wrote some of the Lyrics there. This song is about a friend of mine from L.A. who wanted to become a Rock Star but his girlfriend couldn’t keep up with his dream and they finally broke up. I dedicate this song to those who want to be Rock Stars and they are having problems with their girlfriends! Anyways..so I did the demo for the song back then but I never finished with the whole thing and in 2019 i recorded it at the Studio and now is finally published! I really love this song and it brings me back memories from my first years in Hollywood.
I met Mark in L.A. when he was singing for Uli Jon Roth in 2007 and 2008.We talked several times there but later on I lost the contact with him. So 2 months ago I was looking for a singer and I thought that it would be great if Mark would sing on my song! So I have a very good common friend with him from Berlin and I asked him to get me in touch with Mark and that was it! So thanks to my friend Mike Dimareli! It’s an honor for me having Mark Boals singing on my music! Mark is a legend you know..
I’m playing only with Fender Stratocasters since 1997..before that I was playing with Gibson flying V. But yeah Fender Stratocasters are my favourite ones till now! So bad I don’t have an endorsement with Fender yet!! As far as amplification goes I use mainly Marshall.

The Crowning
The CRASH THE SYSTEM - project came about as a collaboration between song-writer Sören Kronqvist and drummer/producer Daniel Flores in the fall of 2008. The duo has known each other for a couple of years and they respect each other's work. Sören and Daniel decided to make a project together with songs they enjoyed writing. Thanks to Daniel's extensive music background, good reputation, and connections in the music business he managed to bring in some of the top names in Sweden into the project.
Guest vocalists on the project are: Göran Edman (Ex-Yngwie Malmsteen, John Norum, Brazen Abbot, etc), Mats Levén (Ex-Yngwie Malmsteen, Infinite Mass, etc), Thomas Vikström (Ex-Talk Of The Town, Candlemass, etc) and Björn Jansson (Ex-Ride The Sky, Tears Of Anger, etc). Backing up these fine vocalists which are all appearing together on an album for the very first time, are Daniel Flores on drums, guitars, bass, keyboards, strings, and backing vocals (Mind's Eye, The Murder of My Sweet, etc), former Finnish 400 meter hurdle Champion and song-writer Sören Kronqvist on keyboards, rhythm guitars, and bass.
Sören Kronqvist has co-written songs for House Of Lords, Grammy-nominated Michael Bormann, Swedish rockers CCRock and 250kg kärlek. Obscure US 80's Metal band Crisis formed back in 1980. Taking a heavy dose of their influences from Motorhead, Raven, Iron Maiden, and the New Wave of British Heavy Metal, it wasn't too big of a surprise that they got signed to an English label, Bullet Records. Their debut came out in 1984 'Armed to the Teeth' and of course their music was much bigger in Europe than the USA because they weren't another Motley Crue or Quiet Riot band. After the well received first album, the band's label went bankrupt and the second album 'Kick It Out' failed to reach European distributors and their established fans. The band struggled on and eventually called it quits. This release contains the band's entire career on a double disc with a full color booklet .

The Gentlemen Rastelli and Balconi mix Gothic Metal of the most melodic kind with medieval and atmospheric elements and alternating harsh, Death and Black-related, and deep, clear vocals that it is a sheer delight! What reads a little unspectacular in the first moment, unfolds a pretty unique atmosphere and tension as I could witness only few times before.
Keyboards form an atmospheric foundation on which the very varied and well arranged compositions are built, where the main emphasis lies on melodies and atmosphere, which masterfully is put into music. Heavy guitars and fat drums also have their space in the sound of CROWN OF AUTUMN and just add even more to the broad spectrum.
To mention single songs are difficult, especially as it will be pretty hard to find "The Treasures Arcane" in any shop, but if you want one song that best defines the sound of the Italians, take "Nocturnal Gold Part II: The Name Of Inquietude".
