Decadent
U.D.O. are the epitome of German metal! The band around iconic vocalist Udo Dirkschneider (ex-Accept) has just completed their 15th studio album, titled 'Decadent'. Once again U.D.O. combines powerful, traditional heavy metal with an up-to-date sound. Following 2013's 'Steelhammer' album, 'Decadent' surprisingly raises the bar by another notch and became one of U.D.O.'s finest works ever. The album was produced by Udo Dirkschneider and Mattes Pfeiffer (Redhead Audio Productions, Wilhelmshaven) in collaboration with Fitty Wienhold - just like the team worked for 'Steelhammer'. The songs were recorded in Udo and Fitty's Double U Studios, while Mattes studio in Wilhelmshaven (Germany) was the place for mixing. All U.D.O. members were involved in the songwriting process. 'Decadent' then finally was mastered by Jacob Hansen (a.o. Volbeat).

The 5-track-appetizer of the new U.D.O.-Album DOMINATOR (to be released end of August this year) is promising great things – but do you really expect anything else than great stuff by U.D.O.? Even the title song of this EP – a first class double bass hymn in tradition of Accept-able headbangers like ’Breaker, ’TV War’ or (to stick to U.D.O.) ’Thunderball’ – reminds on the good old classic era of Dirkschneider’s former band. Same with both non-album-tracks: ’Systematic Chaos’ is a dark riff-rocker à la ’London Leather Boys’ - ’Body Wolrd’ a mid-tempo hymn in ’Up To The Limit’ direction. Two more well-known songs close the circle: the remix of anti-war-song ’Planchet Soldat’ (sang in Russian language) as well as the live version of ’Poezd Po Rosiii’. Leatherhead” is the first single (or more likely EP) from the forthcoming album called “REV-Raptor”.
Here we have 4 new tracks 2 are taken from the new album (” Leatherhead” and “Rock’n’Roll Soldiers”) and two previously unreleased (“Free Or Rebellion” and “Run”) as well as two promo videos of “Leatherhad” and “Jingle Bells”. The first two tracks sound like typical UDO songs (as if they were taken from UDO’s latest albums) along with some unavoidable ACCEPT influences (if we could say so..) while “Free Or Rebellion” is what we call a sing along song, just the thing for a live performance.

Mastercutor
One of the laws of heavy metal is for sure, that you will not be disappointed at all when it comes to new releases from Udo Dirkschneider and his band. For sure there is also great albums and ones that are only ok, but I really can´t remember a bad one. The last release “Mission No. 10” was one of the ones that only was ok. But you will be getting a very good one right away. “Mastercutor” has modern influences and a up to date production, but it is still typical U.D.O. all through. The songs are just as you are used to it and Udo´s voice sounds just like it always does. This is pure heavy metal and “Mastercutor” is for sure the best U.D.O. release since “Man & Machine”.

This is the third live album presented by the living legend of Metal music, Udo Dirkschneider. The ’personal’ band of ACCEPT’s frontman runs for 20 yars now. Woa; Udo made it longer in his solo career - even if the myth of ACCEPT shall never be surpassed, I guess. "Mastercutor Alive" was recorded live at Tuttligen, Germany (mid-2008) and proves to have been a helluva party. Just check the tracklist.
U.D.O. songs: the band - featuring fellow-ACCEPT comrade Stefan Kaufmann, for those who are not aware - selected a sufficient variety of albums to take samples from; we even see two songs from their debut 1987 album, "Animal House". Reasonably enough, main portion comes from the latest "Mastercutor" studio release, with the quintet providing high-energy Heavy Metal in (mostly) mid-pace manners, but with ’lightning strikes’ speeders too. Udo’s voice shelters no surprise: for those not standing his tone, there’s no good news. Admirers of his harsh attitude - on the other hand - will benefit for one more time. The musician’s bond is something obvious, in addition. Even if the songs cannot follow some innovative pattern, truth is you will not have the chance to stand still listening to esteemed cuts such as "Mastercutor", "24/7", "The Wrong Side Of Midnight", "Animal House" and "Holy". Well done, also bearing in mind the solo parts are indeed needed as breaks.
ACCEPT songs: Even if Udo and Co. has enough discography to take over a whole 2-hour set, there’s no possibility a U.D.O. gig would feature no ACCEPT songs apart from the obvious reference, we should point out U.D.O.’s career steps enough on the ACCEPT stones in general terms of songwriting/tempos. Hence, a total of eleven songs straight from the Solingen-based famous Metal band’s glorious 80s history is served to honor the ideals of a proud metalhead; headbanging, air-guitar playing and dunno-what-else behavior/response. Among expected ACCEPT hymns it’s fine to see some long hidden ’diamonds’ such as e.g. "Winterdreams" or "Burning" in the setlist; full of affection and respect is the band’s performance in these songs, while the crowd - cannot get if they’re vivid or not by the audio mix - should not complain to the generous offer by Udo’s gang.

UFO is a British hard rock/heavy metal band formed in 1969. UFO became a transitional group between early hard rock and heavy metal and the New Wave of British Heavy Metal. Of course you don't need to attach more importance to this piece of news than it necessarily has, but it certainly deserves to be mentioned: for the first time in more than 20 years, one of the most British rock bands in music history has recorded a studio album in their native country. Their latest offering is entitled A Conspiracy Of Stars, was cut by rock legend UFO and breathes that typically British easy-going confidence for which this band has been known for over 45 years. A strong release consisting of eleven songs which combine everything that the group surrounding frontman Phil Mogg stands for: meaty riffs, distinctive hooks, diverse songwriting, intelligent lyrics and that generally laid-back attitude which we have associated with UFO from the start. The fact that A Conspiracy Of Stars was produced and mixed by Chris Tsangarides (Judas Priest, Thin Lizzy, Gary Moore, among others) may be considered another successful element in a thoroughly consistent release. To cut a long story short: their 22nd studio recording to date sees UFO prove that past and present can be blended in a homogeneous whole.
A Conspiracy Of Stars presents UFO s current line-up for the first time: along with the original members, Phil Mogg (vocals), Paul Raymond (keyboards, guitar) and Andy Parker (drums), lead guitarist Vinnie Moore has been a permanent member of the group since 2003, American bassist Rob De Luca joining the fold in 2012. De Luca is not only a brilliant instrumentalist but has also contributed two of the album tracks as a songwriter. The majority of the new material was composed by Vinnie Moore, the album also featuring a song by Paul Raymond and a collaboration between Raymond and De Luca. The lyrics were penned by frontman Phil Mogg.
Talking of which: once again, Mogg proves his talent as a keen observer of the human species. Despite his exceptional position in the international rock n roll genre, the British vocalist has remained a man of the people. Mogg continues to be sympathetic to the working class, that s where his roots are, those are the people that the UFO singer continues to feel close to. Listening to UFO s new material, you can hear his origins in his songs, in his lyrics, which despite plays on words and conscious ambiguities prove his unconditional down-to-earthiness and produce wonderfully poetic phrases such as: The scatter rollers coming down, summers been and turned around, it don t seem so long ago, that you were my precious cargo, he sings on Precious Cargo , an equally subtle declaration of love as the number Killing Kind , which has Mogg kick off with the words: Tell a story about love and what lovers find, a story of possession, the killing kind. In view of so much verbal aesthetics it comes as no surprise that the UFO vocalist is appreciated the world over for his sensitive and carefully written lyrics.
Lyrics and music for A Conspiracy Of Stars were written and composed in summer 2014. The band met for rehearsals at the Barn Room studios in Kent in mid-August before UFO moved a few miles further east to Chris Tsangarides Ecology Rooms studio, where they recorded their latest oeuvre, supported by the Greek Cypriot-British sound engineer, from late August until mid-September. Coincidentally, Tsangarides was working at the studio as a 14-year-old trainee when UFO recorded their debut album UFO 1 in England in 1970.

British rock legends UFO will release their brand-new studio album, "The Visitor", in late May/early June via SPV/Steamhammer. UFO composed more than 35 new tracks in the run-up to the recordings, 13 of which were short-listed and produced at the studio. 11 of these songs are expected to make it onto the regular album, while the other two are scheduled to become bonus tracks on the limited-edition digipack. The current lineup continues to consist of the three original members, Phil Mogg (vocals), Paul Raymond (guitar, keyboards), and Andy Parker (drums), as well as American world-class guitarist Vinnie Moore. Bass legend and original member Pete Way is currently suffering from a liver disease and was unfortunately not available for the studio production.

Michael Schenker''''''''s status as the most exciting guitarist in heavy rock was confirmed, the band were rejuvenated with personnel change as Paul Raymond replaced Danny Peyronel and Leo Lyons, who had produced the band''''''''s previous three albums was replaced by Ron Nevison, whose work with Led Zeppelin had impressed and signalled the first in a stellar run of collaborations. An album rich in quality, title track ''''''''Lights Out'''''''' offers an urgent portrayal of a dystopian London, dripping with "batons charging... The smell of anarchy". The song was inspired by the same thing that led Joe Strummer to write ''''''''White Riot'''''''' for the Clash - the Notting Hill Riots of August 1976. Closing out the record is what Iron Maiden''''''''s Steve Harris has called his favourite song of all time, ''''''''Love to Love'''''''', arguably the albums crowning achievement. Newly Remastered from the original tape transfers by legendary engineer Andy Pearce, the album is sonically more gripping than ever. This 2CD set comes with a recording of the first show of the Lights Out tour, at the Roundhouse, London from April 2, 1977, newly mixed by Richard Whittaker. Remastered and cut by legendary engineer Andy Pearce, the material enclosed sounds as urgent and thrilling as when it was first released.

Lost In Attraction
Lost in Attraction. This is truly a wonderful album and the unusual thing is it sounds more American / Canadian than it does Swedish. Those eighties influences have definitely made an indelible mark with these two talented guys as they have made an album which is very much worth talking about. Strong melodies, catchy riffs and a plethora of keyboards. Just check out “Bring me in” the album opener, a classic start with haunting vocals, strutting guitars and a grand wall of keyboards. The chorus is instant and crescendo’s into a majestic masterpiece. The title track itself smacks of Journey mixed with Survivor and there are many other eighties vibes along the way. “Can’t believe” is worthy of special mention, with its huge choruses and melodic guitars.

Worlds Collide
After disbanding over sixteen years ago, the original members of the legendary melodic hard rock quintet Unruly Child, have reunited to produce a brand new album for Frontiers Records.
Marcie Michelle Free (vocalist - King Kobra, Signal), Bruce Gowdy (guitarist – Stone Fury, World Trade), and Guy Allison (keyboardist – Lodgic, World Trade, Doobie Brothers) are back together again and have written and recorded a stunning new cd entitled “Worlds Collide”. Rejoining Free, Gowdy, and Allison are original band members from the first record produced in 1992 by Beau Hill (Ratt, Winger, The Storm, Europe) and released on Interscope/Atlantic in 1992: drummer - Jay Schellen (Hurricane, World Trade, Asia), and bassist - Larry Antonino (Pablo Cruise).
Since the initial release of the critically-acclaimed "Unruly Child", all the band members have successfully pursued accomplished careers in the music industry. Marcie Michelle Free, one of the world's finest and and in recent times, most renowned transgendered vocalists, first released a solo record as Mark Free entitled “Long Way From Love” in 1993 and then another solo record as Marcie Free titled “Tormented” in 1996.
While the original band may have been disbanded, guitarist Bruce Gowdy and keyboardist Guy Allison were not dormant during the past 16 years. They produced two more Unruly Child records without Free, and participated on another World Trade album with Schellen. They have also pursued other projects and their reputation as writers, performers and arrangers is second to none with experiences with the likes of Glenn Hughes (Deep Purple), Bobby Kimball (Toto), Doobie Brothers, Boz Scaggs, Air Supply and The Moody Blues.
Drummer Jay Schellen and bass player Larry Antonino are a solid powerhouse rhythm section. After Schellen worked with Gowdy and Allison on World Trade’s “Euphoria” in 1995, he rejoined Hurricane with Kelly Hansen on “Liquifury”. He also was part of the Asia album “Silent Nation” line-up and keeps touring and recording with Asia featuring John Payne nowadays. Antonino has played with Ambrosia and Air Supply and in addition to being one of the world's most respected bass players, he has pursued acting, with his most notable role being that of "The Wolfman" in the movie “That Thing You Do" starring Tom Hanks.
But the puzzle would not quite be complete until the awesome cover art was designed by none other than the famed, Hugh Syme (Rush, Megadeth, Whitesnake etc.). The final piece for the ultimate reunion, as he also designed the original Unruly Child debut album artwork.
With so much excitement centered around their new record it has sparked fires of tour talk. Something this group has never done before. Will they hit the road in Europe or the States? Keep checking back. The band already has material in preparation for a follow up, but will likely release a remixed, remastered and updated version of "Tormented" with bonus tracks and new material before breaking ground on the next record. Unruly Child are also in the process of securing the rights to their first record for a future re-release.
The group, in its constant state of evolution has generated an exciting new album reflecting its musical roots in contemporary and classic rock sensibility. With the return to the original line-up, they have discovered that while time may pass, some things never change. In their case, that's a good thing. The future looks very promising for the rebirth of Unruly Child.

The US-band URGENT released two albums in the 1980’s, „Cast The First Stone“ and „Thinking Out Loud“, which Classic Rock fans rate still high. While the debut already got re-issued some time ago, “Thinking Out Loud” gets its first re-releases via the AOR HEAVEN CLASSIX series. The band URGENT was built around the three brothers Michael, Don and Steve Kehr, but also featured Yul Vasquez who later joined cult rockers DIVING FOR PEARLS. So don’t mistake this band URGENT with the Canadian band of the same name who released their album “Timing” at the very same time. Well, but back to the reissue of “Thinking Out Loud” which got remastered by Chris Lyne (SOUL DOCTOR), is limited to 1.000 copies and features detailed liner-notes by Dave Reynolds. The album includes 11 very strong Classic Rock tracks in the vein of LOVERBOY, BOULEVARD, Russ Ballard and the legendary STABILIZERS. The sound of URGENT sometimes is more guitar-driven (“I Can’t Take It No More”) and sometimes more keyboard oriented (“If This Is Love”). The highlights on “Thinking Out Loud” are the classic track “Running Back” which sounds like LOVERBOY at their heydays and which was already included on “Cast The First Stone”, the Russ Ballard influenced “Pain (Love Is A Victim)”, the dramatically arranged and Wave infused ballad “If This Is Love”, the heavily grooving “Give Em Enough Rope” and the multi-layered ballad “All Over The World”. All these songs have stood the test of time and have lost nothing of their class! Wake The Sleeper
You can't imagine the excitement when this CD arrived. Uriah Heep are back, first album in 10 years and best album in nearly 20. Record compa-ny probs aside it's good to see the band signed to a major label. Uriah Heep had a lengthy stable period, the only change here is the departure of longtime drummer Lee Kerslake and coming in is Russell Gilbrook. Joining him are singer Bernie Shaw, bassist Trevor Bolder, pianist Phil Lan-zon and Mick Box on guitar. The title track opens and really smacks you square in the face, heavy and operatic in true Heep fashion. "Overload" continues with guitar and keyboard riffs aplenty. I could go on, but you get the idea, it's a great album, a solid feel throughout. A clear statement of intent, and while there's a distinct nod at the 80s and 90s, it's a big step forward. Yes they've hit the 21st century late, but they've hit it running.

UZI was formed on Chicago's south side in late 1986 by childhood friends and co-founders, singer, songwriter, bassist Nicholas Flynt and guitarist Keith Johnson.
A decade earlier their friendship was forged on a school playground by their equally unquenchable thirst for musical classics like "KISS - Alive!", Aerosmith's "Rocks", and Van Halen "Van Halen". They each bought guitars and formed a band and as the 70's gave way to the 80's they became influenced by the metal rock wave ridden by bands like AC/DC, Judas Priest, and Motley Crue.
