Disc I, entitled 'Historical Depravity', gives a very interesting insight in the bands formative years. These three (!) hours are packed with ancient pictures, all former band members (such as Atomic Steif, Witchhunter and Grave Violator) and famous friends (Mille, Gerre and Lemmy, to namedrop a few). Onkel Tom himself tells some good anecdotes about his band and especially the part where he tells he was going to buy his first bass guitar is hilarious. Disc II holds no less than 30 songs, recorded on various locations in the Angelripper / Bernemann / Schottkowski line-up. The DVD has a killer picture and sound, but I'm convinced, sound wise some alterations have been made, because all different shows sound the same. Maybe it had been wise to publish one or two full length shows, because it's a bit aggravating to visit various festivals within a few minutes. These are the only negative remarks on this superb DVD. I can't hardly wait for part II to hit the streets. On top of that, the new studio album is due very soon and the band will tour their asses off once more. This DVD is a must have for all thrash- and Sodomaniacs worldwide. |
