MP3: German producer/songwriter Henry Pauly recorded the entire album almost all by himself. Only the vocals were performed by a couple of well-known artists such as James LaBrie (Dream Theater), Michael Sadler (Saga) and Jody Ashworth (Trans Siberian Orchestra). Unfortunately, Ashworth is responsible for most of the vocals. His opera voice perfectly suits TSO without a doubt, but on 'Babysteps', his vocals are really bad. He is completely overreacting and he really holds down the musical level of the album. On the other hand Sadler does an excellent and LaBrie does not need any further introduction. Musically, Henning Pauly can be compared with Savatage; theatrical hard rock, featuring lots of calmer parts and choirs and orchestras. |
